Panic Disorder and Bipolar??

Lance,

Mental Health issues can be difficult to diagnose.  Often classifications of disorders are just a grouping of symptoms that are commonly found together. The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders is continually changing and being adjusted as our understanding of mental illness continues to change.  It can be frustrating for many people with mental illness to not have a clear understanding about what is going on with them.  Often people with mental illness will not have one diagnoses but many.  People with more then one diagnosed mental health issue are said to have concurrent disorders.

Seeing your doctor or a few doctors is the best advice I can give to try to find clarity with your diagnoses.  Even if clarity cannot be reached at this time you can still take steps to improve your mental health.  Working through this program, talking with a counselor and trying to remain positive are all steps you can take whether or not you have a clear diagnoses.

Keep posting and stay stong!

It's been nice seeing you on the forums Lance!

Now the big question. Are my panic attacks a bipolar symptom or a seperate condition.
Thats the tough part. First accepting the diagnosis of being bipolar. Now wait to find out if correcting that will help the panic attacks. Its all such a big guess and an experiment. Can be a bit frustrating, but what can you do?
