HEy Erin,

I think you got great advice thinking of your interview as an informal chat! As for chatting I will try to log into the chat more often!

Ah!  My bad, I'm usually at work when I post, so I can't go on the chat...

I'll try sometime tomorrow (late) afternoon though.  Just remember, no matter how dimly the night sky is lit, any person can change their stars.  Faith is believing in what you can't see, that's what makes it so hard...but very worth it.

Cheers.

Better to push, then be pushed.  Keep on, pushing on, Erin!

By the way, we have a chat feature on this board, though someone else has to be signed in as well...it's on the main forum/bbs page, right above the forum itself.  Looks like

Erin,   Welcome to our support community.  We are always here to assist and support, so continue to post with us!  good for you for getting an interview and moving forward.  Try some exposure therapy to help you get ready for the interview.  Do mock interviews with friends of family.  You can do this!   Looking through the program can assist you with a better understanding of anxiety, so take it slow and ask questions.  We also have a sister site DepressionCenter.net for more information on depression and a great support group as well.
Do try our instant messenger for a more direct avenue to the members!   Josie, Health Educator

Hi Erin,

It does help to talk.. i definitley agree with that!  I get extremelly nervous prior to interviews as well... I find it hard to think clearly and feel I'm being interrogated!!  That said though, I had a prospective employer call me and ask me to come in for an 'informal chat'.. turned out to be an interview, however just by labelling it an 'informal chat' made me not be nervous - not even slightly!  Now when I do have an interview, I self label it an 'informal chat' and that seems to help alot.  I also try to not get too caught up in winning the job, I find that ups my stress levels immensly.  If I miss out on this opportunity, no matter how much I might want it, its for a reason, and another opportunity will always present itself..

Good luck chicky, let us know how you go! =)

Hi my name is Erin and I am having a bit of anxiety/depression today. I am very anxious because a chat room i go to on another website (another program im in) has been shut off or something and I really needed to talk to someone. I don't know where else to go. I guess I didn't really realize on how much I needed to talk with others about this until now. I have been looking for other chats but am getting really frusterated. I wish this room had a direct chat. I am very nervous to start working again. I have been out of work since August 9th due to my Panic Agoraphobia and Depression. I have an interview this Friday and didn't think I was nervous when I applied but now I can feel my anxiety rising moment by moment.....just don't know what to do anymore....
