Challenge for everyone?

Hi Jhori82,   Way to go on sending out the "positivity" with a smile..............I agree that sometimes a simple smile can be challenging especially when mentally or emotionally we feel tired, drained, overwhelmed or even apathetic.   There is a saying that a smile is considered an act of kindness.   Glad to see that you felt like "yourself". For me personally, patience is a challenge..... my task to work on!   Members.........please share any experiences/challenges since Sunday.     Faryal, Health Educator

Well, I did give it a try, though I gotta be honest I was mostly in my "comfort zone"...so-to-speak.  Stayed in Sunday, not out of fear, more out of a lack of anything to do.  Well, the previous night I went out...and now that I think about it I did take on the challenge outside and inside my comfort zone!

Inside the comfort zone:  was with my roommate the whole day just kinda maxing and relaxing.  Shooting breeze to the wind, making food, laughing at dumb jokes, the whole nine yards.

Outside the comfort zone:  went out to a bar with friends, made friends with the people both in front and behind us while waiting in line...it was a good time all around.

Both of these situations I forced myself to smile and send off some "positivity", whether in the form of a joke, or just a smile as I passed by.  Then I let myself be boring, or whatever I was otherwise.  Felt pretty good.  Felt like me.

Ok, well first I would like to say, I am not in my natural environment so it made the challenge tougher. Today I went to a market. I tried to smile at people and say have a nice day. I felt like hiding though, like oddly nervous. I told a man his dog was really cute (as he was). He smiled and it seemed to make him happy. Still felt silly. Anyway, will continue trying this! Weird how tough it is just smiling sometimes! I guess I just donèt like being noticed lol.

Ok so if I understand correctly, we start on sunday. And once weekly, we do a random act of kindness and we follow it up with a short reflexion on everything we have to be grateful for? Just trying to figure this out  One way or another. I am in!

Oh, and a little side note:  anyone can join at anytime.  So if you aren't in it yet, and don't want to be...but find you do want to be later, we would love any extra company.
