Reflection Time!

15 years ago 0 466 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Last week was a testing one.  I came to realize though, that through all the clouds our days have, the sun will always shine...that's where this post came from

Dee:    You can call me psychic!  Nah, doesn't fit does it?  Well, it'll come.  Thanks for the compliments and hand claps, we all deserve em!

Breanne:  No problemo!  You should feel pretty proud yourself, you're a part of this "maddening" experience of enlightenment!

Caden:  I definitely relate to the downplaying yourself part.  I think that's where part of this came from, a reminder that things went better then we sometimes are willing to admit.

Gene:  I didn't put everything that I went through last week either, but don't ever think your posts put a damper on us.  We all go through it, you putting those thoughts down help others to realize they aren't alone in those thoughts/feelings...and it gives us a reason to be strong for each other.  But just to contradict myself, what you put up is your choice, we are all kings of our own minds and mouths! (and hands since they type...)  So feel free to put up what you want, and not the stuff you don't.

Congrats on driving everywhere!  I remember about a month ago you were talking about how you weren't sure if you could get in a car, and now your driving almost 500km?  Definitely some rewarding exposure time!  And I like that line from Edison.  I heard something very similar, which went: "The only way to truly be free, is to face your fear"

Miki:  I am proud!  It's been one helluva week, but overall I can say that I accomplished a lot.  Aha, I can say WE accomplished a lot.

Doc:  Thanks!  Just "sharing the wealth".

Wonderful post, Joe!! You must be proud of yourself, especially, to go out of your way to congratulate us all. Like what others have said, you are very considerate and caring and a great person! Thanks so much for that! I hope you (and of course the rest of you too) know how much you moved me for being really considerate. Thank you thank you thank you.

Hi Joe

Thanks for that. And "here here" you are very caring person with a wonderful attitude. This week has been a funny one. I went through all the motions; depression, anxiety and a couple of PAs. I didn't feel like putting a damper on everybody with my negative attitude so I haven't posted very much; but I have been reading. So I second you. Well done to all.

Like everybody else I have also had allot of successes. I have been doing everything the last three days with very little anxiety. It has been amazing. We have a foreign researcher from Hungary with our research group and so I have driving her around the country. It has been great and the driving has caused me almost no anxiety. This was after nearly 500km of driving!

So it is a great week to reflect on. The way I felt on Wednesday and Thursday I would never have imagined that the week could end on such a high note. On Thursday I began to feel angry. Angry at the panic monster. And I decided that the most important exposure for me is to experience panic. That is all I am afraid of. I don't have phobias. Only the fear of fear. So that is what I forced myself to experience this week. To just let go and wish for the monster to consume me. It had been very liberating. I will leave you wish a line from Edison (I think!).

"Do that which you are afraid of and you will surely conquer your fear".

Hi Ya All:

Thank-you Joe for reminding us all that no matter how small a step we take to conquer our fears it is a time to congratulate ourselves.  I can only speak for myself  but I tend to forget or downplay my successes & focus on what I can't do.

You are a very caring individual.

Congratulations on your successes to date!

Joe , oh i have to call you something else , its not 'you' but i cant think of anything good atm . What a lovely thoughtful young man you are  . And quite a physhic , i was only thinking this in bed last night . It has been quite a horrible eventful week , espically the Doc and Miki . You are so right and hope you included yourself in this post . You have faced your own demons and won so big hand claps to you too .

I am so proud of everyone here , between us we have done so much this week and have all come through that little bit stronger . So thanks for everyone sharing everything because even though you have all had down times you have still been around to help and encourage the like of us and that in itself is wonderful and caring .

Just reflecting on the week for us all, and it seems like we've all had it rough in one way or another.  With relationships, PA attacks, phobias, general life issues, we've all been through it this week.

But in spite of that, we've all had breakthroughs...and I think that's what seems to stand out most.  In the hardest times we've had (and I will forget certain things and not everyone will be here cuz I'm typing in a mad frenzied rush):
Miki:  you've made a very hard stand and I'm proud of you for doing that!  If this were baseball, you would be Babe Ruth, the legend!
Diva:  you succeeded in conquering you PA with the food spot you went to.  All the harsh times with your husband, and still going out to the library, restaurant, and feeling FREE while doing it!
Dee:  you kept your head in a hurricane of the everyday life of taking care of your family!  And helped save your neighbors relationship.  What can't you do?
Gene:  Getting back in that car and doing what you love, taking on those demons like CERN is black matter!  And the anxiety after affects are getting lighter!
Minnesota:  Got your job and taking care of biz!  You really are full of positive energy!
Caden:  Taking on college!  One step at a time, we believe in you!

Point being, we've all stepped up to the plate and taken on something this week, and we've all conquered something.  We all still have harsh time ahead, and are going through anxiety even as I type...but do NOT forget that you are all a success.  You're ability to face your fear, gives me courage to face my own...thank you for that!

If you don't mind, I know I didn't get all of your successes, or everyone for that matter....please everyone refresh my absent minded tendencies!

CHEERS TO ALL!
