A strange success

Some movies like the spiderman stuff, I cant see at the theater, all the flying and anything that they move the picture around or upside down, I get dizzy.  But I"m glad I do go to the others, and sitting far back helps me a lot...:)
Keep us posted DB:)

Hi Dark Blue,
Thanks for posting your inspiring successes.
I still have problems in the theater if they are action/ serious movies. Horror films are definitely out of the pic even in the home... but anything with big noise and exciting sound/ music/ scenes I can't do in the theater.. only calm love movies, or funny comedies.

Hello DB . Well all of them are certainly success stories as far as im concerned . Well done you , you really should be pleased with yourself and so you should .

As for you employer , that happened to my husband a few years ago . I tought it was terrible and not right at all , he quit in the end because they were hassling him so much .

Hi

DB..these are definately not silly things.  I too didn't like movie theatres for a long time.  I was at a movie last night actually and even sat in the middle of the row and not the aisle seat.  I'm so appreciative of being able to go again.

As for big stadiums...I still get a bit of initial anxiety at first as it seems to throw of my equilibrium a bit but once the concert starts it's just great....

I do find it interesting that your work would request reports from your doctors.  I've never heard of that before but I know our health care systems are very different.  I think in Canada we are very blessed .... or at least my experiences have been.

Keep on truckin DB... your racking of the successes..and I love reading about them!

darkblue,

Congrats on all of your successes! You are doing a fantastic job!
In terms of your employer wanting you to sign a consent form, is there any way you can negotiate the terms if you find them unacceptable?

Again, you are doing such a great job, keep up the good work!

HI DB, thats a lot of successes, well done.! The movie thing is not silly, I had a thing for the movie theater for years.  I hated to go to those stadium seating ones as I felt dizzy, was so huge.
Now I love the big theaters, They are not all big, some of them show the movies on smaller screen, but not too huge but the stadium seating.  I always sit at the far back and then i can see the sides of the screen.  So its a huge step.  Keep up the good work.

It's been a long and interesting few weeks.

I had coffee yesterday.  Something that always set off my anxiety.
I thought I would give it a go, because there's nothing major that it could do to me.

I just felt hyped up.  I was very sensitive to the caffeine, probably because I haven't had caffeine in such a long time.  No panic, no anxiety, just hyper.

Surely that's a success story...

I've had wine this week, too.  I avoided alcohol for a long time because it made me nervous.  And again, I was fine.

My partner and I had a little argument.  I remained cool, calm and rational.  We sorted it out very amicably and moved on.
Our arguments used to be quite loud and very emotional.  But not any more.

I went in to the city centre.  Shopping centres, etc.  Oh - and last week, I went to the cinema.

This all sounds quite ridiculous, but the cinema was one of the things that I dreaded most.  To be in that confined space with all those people.   And yet I was absolutely fine.
I enojoyed myself.

The only problem I'm having at the moment is my work.  They want me to sign a consent form for them to get reports from my doctor.  I don't want to sign it because the terms of it are unacceptable to me.  But I'll deal with that when it occurs.

All in all, it's been a very good week.  And I thought the same thing last week.

Things are really improving.

There's hope for us all!
