I feel like a bit of a fool for my ongoing rambling about the trip last week, but I wanted to thank you all for listening to my ramblings:)

Hi all, I decided in the end not to go, I did it without being hysterical and my hubby said it was ok. Next week I asked him to take me for a long drive even if the weather is bad, so I can do my exposure practice. thanks for all your support.

thats a good idea, my sister gave me noise reduction headsets, maybe i should just take a nap in the back and leave the driving to the professionals, I feel if I cant see the road clearly my husband wont be able to and we'll have an accident, he said to trust him, but you know how us anxious people are..:)

Minnesota, Distractions can be a great tool. You may also want to print off a few of the first lessons. They focus on challenging your negative thoughts which may be helpful to you. Danielle, Bilingual Health Educator

It does help, the headphone thing is a good idea, not sure if i'm going to go tho, I know my husband is going to be annoyed, I feel so worked up, i'm trying to just relax and see what brings, Supposed to be raining and high winds, and i'm not sure if I want to put myself thru the ride today. It seems that everytime we go, we pick bad weather to go in.

Minnesota , i am such a bad traveller . Weather conditions are one of the things i also consider before i get in the car . My parents live half an hour away from me in a car ( an hour on the bus ) . Its a horrible route , just hate country lanes . My dad is a speed king , but is better with me now he knows what a panic head i am !! When im extremely nervous , i look down and ignore EVERYTHING outside , put my headphones on and lose myself to the music . Deep breathing or singing . May not be any help but i sure can relate :)

Hi everyone, Every month we take a drive to the inlaws about an hour and a half away. Over the winter months, we had some really scary driving conditions, whiteout, and I was terrified. I"m not the driver, but i was terrified. Over the easter weekend I stayed home and didnt go out because of the weather, there was a winter storm warning, my husband went, but I didnt go. Now the weather is fine, but i'm scared to go now. There is a family thing going on, and I feel frozen about getting in the car and going on the trip. Its not far, and my husband has done this route a million times. I checked the weather a million times, and it says rain, but what if it gets bad and we're away..!!!then we have to come back in it..any advice?
