I don't remember where i got the tip or who said it or if it was in the forums or not. It's weird that i suddenly cannot for the life of me remember. But what i do (and this is not my tips, i don't wanna take credit if it works for anybody else) is i bring a bottle of water with me when i go walking. And when i feel panicky and i have trouble breathing and i am sure i will choke and my throat will close up... I take a big swig of water. And i tell myself if you can swallow you can breathe and that really helps me calm down lol so i just keep going. Up to now it has been helping :) Of course as i do that i focus on breathing properly and such lol. But it is like giving myself proof that my throat is open for the business of breathing and that i am ok. So that is the water bottle tip whose origin i cannot remember lol. I have also taken wholesale5's advice who was talking about doing it in baby steps. I have made a brisk walking program. to get my heart pumping and get used to it again being normal when i exercise! This week i do 5 minutes of brisk walking near my house (on my street lol) with my water bottle of course, and i do that everyday. Next week i will go up to ten. I am gathering do many great tips in this forum it is nuts! Anyway, thanks for cheering me on angel. Yesterday i was so happy and proud of myself! I felt real triumphant going to bed :) And having people like you to cheer me on makes all the difference in the world! Thanks so much! -Diva

Hi guys, I wasn't sure if i should post this in the htread about fear of exercise or in the thread about having problems with spending time with my husband. so since it ia aa success story, i figured hey why not start a new thread in the success stories! So here goes! Well tonight i went for a long walk. I walked for about 20 minutes maybe 25, i didn't exactly clock mysself but i know it was at least 20. It was a goos walk, and i am very happy with myself. But where i get the two birds with one stone effect is that i took this walk with my husband, just him and me. And i did not panic! Not from the walking not from the spending time with the hubby. The trick given in the exercise thread about the water bottle really helped! So thanks for putting it there! At first it was ackward with my husband and i was so anxious. Walking and being alone with him. There was nervous chatter on my part the whole time! But towards the end there we even managed to make a few freudian jokes about people with big or loud cars and trucks. That was nice :) So all in all, i am going to go read and get ready for bed feeling pretty happy with myself lol. Anyway, good night! and take care! -Diva
