Hi Samantha, Hi Clairew12, Welcome to the site. As previously stated, you've found the right place! This is one of the nicest places (free of judgment and full of understanding) that I've ever seen. I hope you both get a lot out of the program and that it helps you in your efforts for a better way of handling the stressful thoughts in your lives. Best of luck and keep on keeping on... Arteest

I think it helps to write about it and let it go somewhat. I can totally relate to your stress about your mom and planning for a big event. Good luck and keep writing. E

Hi Samantha. We can all sympathise with you here as Isabella has said. Well i do not have a child, but i know what it is to have a setback. I have been dealing with anxiety and panic for over 15 years on and off. I have had very good runs so no worries. But recently in december i have had a small relapse. And that is always tough to deal with. But i assure you there is a way out of them. I have a therapist and since the 8th i have been working this program. I have been noticing positive changes in my life and i can see that i am slowly getting back to being the way i want to be. I agree with Isabelle that you should adress your sources of stress. My relapse came about because of an overload of stressors and it sounds like yours did too. My therapist is always telling me that a panic attack is a way for your body to communicate with you when you are too stubborn to listen to it lol. As isabella said talk about it with somebody you trust and you feel can help you! Anyway, welcome to the site. Here i have found encouragement, suport, answers to my questions, a place to ask those questions and a nice dose of being cheered on! I am sure you will get that too^^ Once again welcome! -Diva

Samantha, Hello! I can empathize with you and most of us here can. I also have a son and started having panic attacks when I was 21 yrs. old (i am now 23). I worried that I wasn't going to be there for my son and I felt guilty that I didn't want to leave the house because he wasn't going to get to experience things that kids should get to experience. What I found to be helpful is breathing exercises (helps with dizziness, shortness of breath, and derealization), eating healthy, taking a multi-vitamin, getting adequate sleep at night (this one is a must because anxiety gets 10x's worse with lack of sleep), and getting some form of exercise. It is also good to try to get your mind off of the anxiety and the physical sensations that come with it because the more you let them consume you, the worse they will get. Communication is also a must - talk with your fiance, mother, psychologist, whoever so you have someone who knows what you are going through and can help you through it. You also need to address your sources of stress as well because you are probably having the panic and anxiety from your upcoming wedding, mother, etc. so you need to find a more productive way to deal with it all. I hope this helps you in some way and just try to not let the anxiety take over. You need to keep yourself out there and continue to do things because the longer you avoid situations the harder it is to get better. I was really bad for about 9 to 10 months and am finally getting better with the help of this site, the program, and a psychologist. Be strong, be optimistic that things will get better, and keep us posted.

Hey everyone, my name is Samantha. I have had some form of anxiety and anxiety attacks since I was a kid. I am now 20. My attacks seemed to have gone away for about a year with minor anxiety, but about 4 weeks ago I wasn't feeling good. I took my son to his gymboree class figuring getting around other people would be good and I would forget about it. It didn't help I started having extreme vertigo (spinning) and it wouldn't stop. I then began to panic BAD. After the really bad spinning stopped I still paniced. I have been too scared to drive or go anywhere by myself. I also have a 9 month old son and I'm terrified something will happen to me and no one will be able to take care of him. I finally went to a EarNose and Throat doctor and they said I was fine and it would go away but I am still very scared. Not scared cause of the spinning but just in general. I am under alot of stress, I'm getting married in 8 weeks, my mom is driving me crazy, I get no sleep, and am probably malnurished. I don't know what to do. I also think back a few months ago when I didn't have the attacks and I felt not part of reality. Do you think it's normal to feel like that even though there is no anxiety. I feel crazy sometimes and I feel like I can't give my son 100% because I am too scared to do anything. Thanks for listening.
