It's been a while...lots of changes in my life

Thanks for the kind words! Angel, what you said really resonated with me. I too feel that everything around me needs to be perfect in order for me to get better. I guess with all these changes, I realize that I am leaving my comfort zone and it scares me. I don't want to fall back into my anxious ways. But at least I realize that anxiety is temporary, and I will become comfortable with time in any new situation as well.

Hi Brabak! Its so nice to hear from you again! I am so happy for you. It seems like you are on your way to reaching that light at the end of the tunnel! I am so proud of you. I also have been a bit better than before. I also notice of pattern in my anxiety.....it gets worse when i am stressed from either school or other stuff. With respect to dealing with change, i have a difficult time doing that. For example, when my classes at school are new, I get really nervous and afraid because its NEW.....new people, new setting, new professor etc. So, it makes me anxious. But, I try to tell myself that everything will be ok.....that i will get used to it very soon. I just find that I want everything around me to be perfect in order for me to get better. But in reality, nothing will ever be perfect. So right now i'm working on making myself stronger so that i can control my anxiety even in tough situations. nice to hear from u again!!!

Hey guys, I haven't been on this website for a few months now. I wanted to let you all know that I have overcome much of my anxieties and fears and that if I can do it, anyone else can. I still have some anxieties (still a slow eater and every now and then I feel short of breath), but panic attacks are much less frequent and I have so much more control over them now! There have been so many changes in my life recently and I think a lot of my being able to cope with my anxiety is because of me making those changes happen. However, here's my question to you guys. How do you cope with change? Especially major changes? I guess, while a lot of the changes in my life are for the good (new girlfriend, new responsibilities at work, etc.) and will help me cope even better with my anxiety, I still sometimes feel things are changing too fast. So far, I've figured out that denial doesn't work so well. I guess I naturally tend to want to pretend there is no change, but its not an effective long-term solution to dealing with change.
