Great work Grapeseed ?. I'm impressed. It sounds like you are on your way to success.
Timbo,
Thanks for being so supportive, as always. I love reading the advice you give to other members.

Hey Grapeseed,
"My awesome gf made me hummus some of my snacks are healthy!" Healthy snacks are the best way to go for sure.
"It was a reward for me and her. She loved it. It was a really great time." She sounds like a wonderful girl. Glad to hear that BOTH of you had a good time. Rewards are great for reinforcing your commitment to make a life style change. Kind of like giving yourself a pat on the back...but better for sure. LOL
Stay on your journey and I wish you the best. One week down!!!!!!

Well, I've been taking your advice and eating my feelings haha. My awesome gf made me hummus some of my snacks are healthy!
I'm also took your advice and I took my gf out for a fancy dinner yesterday. It was a reward for me and her. She loved it. It was a really great time.
Thanks for your awesome advice! ??
Het Grapeseed,
If eating helps, go for it!. You can work on losing the pounds later. Right now your main objective is to kick the habit. Make sure you reward your girlfriend too for helping you along your journey. LOL
To be honest, I do not remember how long it was before I started feeling better. It was tooooo long ago! I think it was within 30 days days, but not sure. I posted my quit journey on this website. It should be in there.
Mood swings you will get under control in due time. Everything takes time. Remember, you have to relearn how to do just about everything without using a cigarette as a crutch and it just takes time. Make sure your girlfriend understands there will be ups and downs in your moods, and that she shouldn't take it personally. Do your best not to take your frustrations and anger out on her too. That's what stress balls are for. ?
Hang in there and keep us updated with your progress.
Stay strong...

Thank you Timbo.
Your words meant a lot to me. Quitting drinking was a huge goal achieved and I need to remember that.
I decides I'm quitting today. I'm scared but I just have to keep trying.
Hey Grapeseed,
Baby steps will work, so long as you keep walking. Never give up, never surrender. Last year you conquered one of your bad habits and now you're sober, and this year, I hope, will be the year you beat the smoking addiction.
"Still sober too! Celebrating small successes over here." Quitting drinking is not a small success in my eyes. It's a HUGE success! Quitting smoking is harder than quitting drinking, so when you do quit that will be gargantuan!!! ? Even cutting back to one cigarette a day is a GREAT BIG DEAL in my books.
Stay the course and one day you will defeat this nasty addiction. Have faith in yourself, you CAN do this.
Stay safe....

Thanx timbo!
I still haven't quit but I also haven't given up quitting yet. That's an achievement for me. I quit quitting likely 100 times by now. I'm down to one smoke a day. I hope to cut back or maybe even stop for good next week..baby steps for me.
Still sober too! Celebrating small successes over here.
I wish you the best on your journey Grapeseed. Think happy thoughts! ?
As for a tip......buy low and sell high. LOL
Stay strong my friend.
