Chat Room

Heather, Please look above in this thread and you will see the reason why we do not have a chat room. We are currently working on a special configuration that resembles MSN. We are unable to give an estimated time when this feature will be available, however, we are working as hard as we can to accomodate our members. With this feature, members will be able to talk live with other members and discuss concerns and issues. We thank you for your patience, Josie ______________________________ The Panic Center Support Team.

HEY EVERYONE, I THINK THATS A GREAT IDEA! Why dont we all make suggestions to whom ever is in charge of this site. Do you think that is possible?? If everyone feels this way lets make some noise!! WE WANT A CHAT ROOM!!!! WE WANT A CHAT ROOM! IT REALLY MAKES ALOT OF SENSE BECAUSE MOST OF US NEED SOMEONE TO TALK TO ONE ON ONE BECAUSE MOST PEOPLE WHO DONT SUFFER FROM THIS CONDITION HAVE LITTLE TO NO UNDERSTANDING OF WHAT IT REALLY FEELS LIKE OR HOW SCAREY IT IS. I WOULD LOVE TO TALK WITH SOMEONE. MY ATTACKS USUALLY OCCUR AT NIGHT WHILE EVERYONE IS SLEEPING. I COULD USE SOME TALKING TO. LOVE, HEATHER ;)

Hi claire, You have come to the right place! Please feel free to roam the site at your own pace. If you look to the left of the screen under "TOOLS" you will find many supportive tests. These tests are not diagnostic tools and are not a replacement or substitute for a physicians advice. The purpose of these tests is to prepare you with information that you can present to your physician. When youre finished the test, you can either print your Final Report or email it directly to your doctor. We also have developed a Panic Program. This program is 12-weeks and involves the tools mentioned above. Each session is based on the previous session, so we strongly advise that you work slowly through the program and not jump ahead. If you have any questions or concerns with our "TOOLS" you can contact our support department at support@paniccenter.net. Looking forward to hearing from you soon! Be sure to post often and let us know how everything is going. Casey _____________________________ The Panic Center Support Team

To help fellow sufferers I will take my chances, my mail has a spam folder anyway, thanks Melanie. Anybody wanting to email me for a couple of open panic/anxiety chatrooms email me at crabbyroadsmymama@yahoo.com, please put Chat Room Request PC in text line, so I will know to open it.

Trish, There exists what we call mailbots or spambots that do nothing but roam the Internet looking for email addresses to send you spam mail. Although the information you submit when you sign up is private and protected, what you type into a post is public and there for the asking. Therefore if you post your email address or real name, those mailbots will pick up that information. If you are an individual who does not like mail or spambots then please refrain from posting your real name or e-mail address within the site. Hope this helps :), Melanie ______________________________ The Panic Center Support Team This message was edited by Melanie, Support Specialist on 8/1/2004 @ 10:34:59 PM

I have come across two chat rooms that do permit talking about anxiety and panic, they will even tell you if your in a midst of an attack, to help calm you down if your edgy or nervous. However, we aren't permitted to get any other website links for such. Melanie, is it possible that I can post my email, to direct some of these people to either chat room? I would get it to you personally if you wish, that it is strictly chatrooms for panic, that you can verify its a legitimate chat site before you would allowed me to post my email. I know it has helped me many times when I was on edge to drop in, for others to ask what symptoms I was having, and start asking what I had been doing, reassure in times of fear, in those hours of needing to talk to a live person right then. Becky, I have almost decided that there are no chat rooms pertaining to panic/anxiety disorder.I have been searching for a long time. A few weeks ago I thought I'd found one but when I finally got registered and logged into the room, I introduced myself and asked a question. I was told that they didn't discuss their problems in there. I asked, "isn't this a panic and anxiety sufferers group?" I was told, "yes it is but we dont allow anyone to talk about it." I thought that was incredibly stupid to call the group that and not talk about it at all. You can chat casually in any chat room. That really disappointed me. That is no help at all. If I knew that enough members here would be interested in using a chat room I would look into setting one up myself. Let me know what you think. Samantha
