Hi Sulley,

Thank you for posting. It does take courage so good for you! Seeking out a counsellor to speak to is a great idea. We cannot connect you with a counsellor but if you call CAMH they should be able to direct you on next steps.

The first step of AA is to recognize that our life has gotten un-manageable. Then we use the reminder of the steps to have a transformation. If you can visit one of the local AA meetings. There are some great online forums that can help you too.

http://e-aa.org/forum/index.php is one of the online forums that I find very useful. There are great folks there to help people with such issues. If we dont address the issues our mind keeps tricking us back into alcohol. We use alcohol as a crutch. But then it stops working.

Hi, I am new to this and it is a rather uncomfortable feeling. I'm not used to sharing. I have had my problems with alcohol and continue the struggle. Although I feel so much better when I stay away from hard liquor. At the present, my concern revolves around personal issues I have kept in for years and have used alcohol to cover them over. I was wondering if there was anyone at CAMH that I could speak with to help give me direction.
