Traumatic brain injury

Welcome Catch,

We can help you with many strategies to slow down if that is your goal. What have you tried so far to slow down?

You might also want to consider abstaining for a period of time before attempting moderation. How often do you drink now? How many times a week or month?

Welcome Catch, sorry to hear about your injury. Some of us have realized that alcohol doen't suit us, but thats not the main problem that we cant control the amount of drinks after we take 1 or 2 drinks. The problem is we can't stay away from that 1st drink.

We always come up with excuses to drink. And then that impulse takes over and we get drunk.

For me I found the power to stay away from alcohol by working the 12 steps of AA.

Foxman.

hello all I'm here because I have a traumatic brain injury and because of this no impulse control. Addiction runs in my family and I find when I start drinking I simply can't stop. I've even got so far as to, a few times, wetting the bed. I'm looking for help or guidance on how to simply slow down as I drink or what to do when I have the impulse to just not stop drinking.
