A really bad day at work

Thanks everyone for your encouragement.  The rest of the week was much better and the weekend was great.  I got a lot of homework done and then enjoyed a ski day with my daughter and grandson.  They really are the light in my day and a big part of what keeps me motivated.

Wastedtime,

How was your weekend?  How are you doing now? Congratulations on coming to your computer to vent your feelings versus picking up a glass of wine!  Tough to do but so many more rewards in the end.

I am sorry to hear about the tough day you had but HUGE congratulations on getting through it without drinking!

How did you manage to cope? How are you feeling today?

Good point foxman.  I woke up this morning thinking that the best thing I could do for myself is learn not to let other people have so much power over me and learn not to let the politics and drama get me down.  I will work on that.  Thanks for the reminder.

Sobriety is about living life on lifes terms. At times people are going to push buttons from all around. The program of AA is about handle those situations. It helps us step aside those incidences and have a peaceful life. I am so glad that I found the program. What a liberation. Drink is not a solution. The obsession has been removed.

Hey there! Yay for you for passing that store and coming home.  It is these small steps that build up your strength on your journey.

I once was a frequent visitor to this site and just happened to drop in to see how things were going in here.  This site helped me to become alcohol free in August of 2015 and it is accomplishments like the one that you experienced today that will allow you to accomplish your goals.

Keep working and good luck. :)

I had the worst day at work today, just one frustrating thing after another all day.  I was handling it all ok until someone backed me into a corner at a meeting and embarrassed me in front of my coworkers. That was the moment it crossed my mind.  I could go home and drink wine and forget all about this for a while.  I made it past the corner store which is unavoidable because it's just around the corner from my house and came straight to my computer to vent. I know I have to let it go but it was just so maddening and I'm really having trouble shaking it off.
