milk

Hi Gina. The thing with milk is that when heated (but not boiled) it has this sort of chemical substance that's incredibly soothing. That's why babies sleep after drinking warm milk. It's a great thing to help you get to sleep.

Gina, I drink 2-3 glasses of skim milk a day, I do not think it reduces my panic, it does soothe my stomach when I have nausea or heartburn, but as far a panic goes I really do not think so, I drink alot of milk and look at me! I think it may soothe the tummy or calm it down but I truly believe it will not effect panic, unless the person is subsituting it for coffe or soda or something with caffeine. How are you doing? I had a rough day, lately they all our rough. Hugs, Debbie

Hi Gina. I don't know if she's referring to this, but the connection to milk that I know about is that one of the milk proteins is considered to have very strong soothing and calming effects. When I started looking into natural remedies for panic, I went to my local health food store and they gave me a product called Seriane, which is made entirely from milk proteins and/or enzymes (can't recall) and it really did help me when I was feeling anxious and on the edge of a panic attack. It's not cheap, but I found it quite effective and was comfy with it because it's not a drug. Caitlin
