Thanks Jaytee!  So far no drinks for me today, just V8 fusion in a wine glass.  I'm thinking about making stuffed peppers for dinner, then watching a movie or something.  I'm looking forward to no hangover feeling tomorrow morning.  I forget what that feels like!!  Not to be hungover.  Wow.

Thank you David.  I'm so tired.  I really want kick this thing's butt, it sure has kicked mine!!  I'm so ashamed of my behavior while drunk, slurring, acting like a fool.  Real attractive!  One drink leads to eight.  Then I pass out, hardly remember what I said and to whom.  What a life!  I want a new life.  A sober life.  One where I'm a responsible person free from "the poison".  Thanks for your reply.

Sounds like you are describing me...I am also new here...just joined today! For me I am just 12 hours since my last drink...I hate the way I feel when I get up every morning and today my liver actually hurts. Taking things one day (or hour at a time), keeping busy ....i'm hoping this site will give me some tools to finally put this demon to rest.

Hi Lisa,

Your routine is strangely familiar to me and I'm certain to others on this site.  I, also, am tired of feeling tired. My poison is also wine but bourbon or strong beer will do. Today is day 7 sober; longest time in a long time for me.  One here is on day 4, others have just passed one month, one is celebrating 90 days, another 7 years plus.  Some are moderating their drinking and some may have fallen off the wagon temporarily. No matter, we're all alcoholic.

Rest assured though that you've come to a good and safe place where you can feel absolutely at ease expressing yourself and finding out that you're behaviour or drinking is not much different than others here.  Others, after me, will introduce themselves to you.  Feel free to browse the other discussion threads as they contain a lot of helpful information and resources as well as stories like yours and mine.

Have a nice weekend too.

Hello Everyone,

I'm new here.  I haven't had a drink today and am not planning to.  I've been drinking excessively for probably the past ten years.  Stopped for like three weeks once and felt really good, then started up again.  I probably drink up to eight drinks each and every night.  Chardonnay is my poison.  Last night I made a fool of myself talking to a coworker.  Monday should be fun. I'm so embarrassed by my behavior.  I never wanted to be an alcoholic.  Now I'm ready to label myself and get some help.  So today is day one.  So far so good.  I bought lots of healthy drinks/foods.  And I'm online here instead of out on my deck getting sloshed, drunk dialing, drunk texting, falling asleep on my couch by like 8 pm, and waking up the next morning feeling exhausted.  I'm so tired of my tired routine!  So here I am.  Have a nice weekend everyone!
Hugs,

Lisa
