Hi Ashley,

I think the release was helpful - I know by the time it was time to go to bed, I was absolutely wiped out, and I slept really well.

I'll see how it goes.

Interesting Splitimage.

How did you feel after you had a big cry? Was the release helpful for you?

There's a hospital here that has an acupuncture clinic for alcoholics/addicts.  It's supposed to help with cravings, racing thoughts, insomnia, and just generally calm you down.   You have to be in a program to access it, but it's covered by OHIP.    I've been having really strong cravings lately due to some medication changes that I'm making, and one of the nurses at my rehab, suggested that I try the acupuncture.

So I had my first session on Wed.   It was weird.   They put five needles in each ear.   I couldn't feel the needles at all in my left ear, but I could feel them in my right ear.   They didn't hurt exactly, more like an unpleasant pressure.

I didn't feel particularly calmer during or after the session, but after the needles were taken out, I started crying, and couldn't stop crying all afternoon.   I had my double recovery meeting, and I absolutely started bawling in it.   So obviously it released some emotion.

I talked with my nurse about it when I saw her on Fri., and she said she's heard of other people having that reaction.   It just wasn't what I was expecting.

I'm going back this week for another session.  I want to give it a few weeks to see if it's helping.
