Hi everyone and thank you for your positive thoughts.  Unfortunately this position was not capable of working virtually.  I'm so bummed out.  I thought for sure this would be the one, but I guess I'm stuck at my job even longer.  I literally feel sick to my stomach.  I'm really starting to lose hope, but I will try to persevere.

Hope it's great to see you back online, I'm getting worried about BP, she has been out of touch for a few days now.

Hi Mosty, welcome to the thread.  It is always nice to have new members join in the conversation.

I'll check in later.

Hello Dear Mogas,
I'm back from the long vacation and started to work again.. Although I couldnt stick to my 2 drinks per day decision, I only had one night drinking too much and dancing with the girls.. I also spent 2 -3 days sober and didnt started to drink from afternoon. It is somehow moderation for me compared with the amounts I ussu ally able to consume.. I bought my milk thistle and Vitamin B formulas before I go, and started to use them. I also had 2 drinks at the wedding party we joined last sunday.. Now I will try to be sober till friday, to another wedding party..

Camiol! I'm sooo happy for your 2nd interview and wish you the best luck for today.. Pls let us know how it went in the evening!

I also would like to welcome Simonalisa and Mosty to Mogas..

My plan for the evening is to visit my parents after work with my daughter before dinner, have dinner at home and sleep early after reading. Simple and sober night..

Have a nice day all..

Welcome Simonalisa!

Thanks for sharing what you have been experiencing. You mentioned that you enjoy drinking. What about drinking specifically do you enjoy? How can you get this sort of enjoyment from other activities? Finding replacement behaviours while you are cutting back may help. What do you think?

Camoil, Congratulations about the interview. Very excited to hear how it went. Sending positive good interview vibes your way!

Marylizy, Thank you for your honesty - that takes strength. We're right here beside you - you can do this week! How will you reward yourself for getting through it?

PJ, Glad to see you back! Also, very glad to hear you are eating and are feeling better. That sounds like a very scary situation with the car accident! So glad you are ok. It sounds like despite all the difficulties you have had to go through recently you are stronger then ever. You have a great positive attitude. Keep doing what you are doing and you will see lots of progress.

Welcome Mosty! You have come to the right place to cut back. Read through the program to arm yourself with some important information and post here often.  It sounds like you have a good idea of what you want to achieve in regards to cutting back. Let's make your goals a bit more specific. How many drinks/days will you drink this week? How many drinks will you have on the weekend? What are some strategies you will use to ensure you meet these goals? And most importantly, How will you reward yourself for reaching your goals this week?

Hi All

I joined a few weeks ago I don't want to give up completely but have realised that my drinking over the last 10 years is getting heavier and more out of control. I have posted my reasons for wanting to moderate my drinking on the new members forum it is entitled cutting down

I have been doin really well in the week and managing to stop at 2 glasses of wine of an evening a few times a week as opposed to the 2 bottles I had been getting through - however my problem is binging on the weekend this weekend we were out with friends and again I got through 2 bottles of wine resulting in my twinge and/or ache returning in my mid ribcage the day after, it is not prolonged but comes and goes intermittently during the day

I am determined to moderate my weekend drinking and intend to try low alcohol or alcohol free wine as I am sure it is more habit than anything else that I end up doing this

Hey everyone....my interview is at 1:00 today and I'm pumped.  I am hoping this time around that this position will be mine.  I'm confident since this is the second time this company has contacted me to interview for a position, and had they not changed the last position to be bilingual, I think I would have had it.  I just hope this one is it.  Fingers crossed.

PJ glad to see you're back and doing better, especially with the eating.  It's great that you found some counseling to help you out and of course we are all here to support you.  Thank goodness you're ok, that must have been a very scary thing to go through when that person hit you.

Simonalisa, glad that you're two days sober.  I had three drinks last night, my day was very stressful yesterday and I just needed to unwind.  I am just glad I was able to stop at 3.

Well I'm off to work.  I'll let you all know how the interview went....wish me luck and send good vibes my way.

Ciao.

2 days sober, and Camiol it does feel good. I 'get' the job stress, have been working on my resume as going through the same. PJ 'hi', glad you are ok, what a scary time you've had, lucky you were not seriously hurt. Thanks to everyone for the support, it really is helping enormously to know you are all here and going through similar feelings and cravings. I have to say, it's nice to get up in the morning with a clear brain, hope it continues.

Hello All,
I'm sorry for falling of the radar there.  I was going through a lot of withdrawl symptoms and I needed to get food in me etc.  I was fighting through a lot of nightmares etc.  I got into my intake appointment, and on the way home, a guy ran a red light and t-boned me.  Then pushed my car into a pole.  I'm fine, I didn't see it coming so I wasn't tense, which I believe prevented a lot of injuries.  I'm fairly optimistic though, I'm glad to be able to continue on with daily life and be able to make it to work.  It comes down to some of the legal insurance issues now, but those always work themselves out.

I had my first pre-treatment one on one, and group tonight.  It's good to be back into a chat with people who you don't need to explain what the heck is going on.  I do appreciate the support about a week ago, I was going through some dark annoying times.

I'm not trying to write an essay, but wanted to let you know I'm doing quite well.  I'm back onto a proper diet, getting sleep.

I haven't had enough time to read through the posts I missed, but I will and try to catch up.

I hope all of you are doing well, and if you're having struggles, try to keep your eye on the prize.  If you feel like you're all alone, there are a lot of people who are supporting you.  Do your best to keep your chin up, I know I fail at that sometimes, but I know how important it is.

- PJ

Hi all...having a bit of a rough day at work today, and already wanting to have a couple cocktails tonight. I'm going to try my hardest not to let this day drive me to drink.  I am confirmed to interview tomorrow at 1:00 so that's one positive thing today.  The rest of the day has been a huge annoyance and I'm praying that this interview will land me a new job.  I'm so sick of the bull at this job....12 years of hell is long enough, it's time to work for a company that treats its employees like human beings.

Congrats Simonalisa on one day sober....it's a good feeling isn't it?  It's a start to regaining control and we are all here to support you and help you through it.

Hi MOGA's
I just checked in on my diary and it is 2 weeks that I have not posted so that means I have been out of control for 2 weeks. Starting an alcohol free week by posting zeros into today already. I am so glad you are all here for support. I will check back in later. Have a good Monday everyone. Marylizy
