Control, control and control

My old MD also recommended Milk Thistle, though he said there had been no affirmative results in trials, he also said there where no known negative side effects. The shakes are the worst, I am glad that they are no longer a problem during the day, I have always found that to be one of the most embarrassing side effects.

thanks Monicaholiday,
Whenever I sweat, I swear I will get through it. I have prepared a lot of towels next to me when I sleep, and I changed the clothes immediately.  Really tough but I think I can go through it. At least I don't have hands shaking in the day time.
I drink a lot of fresh juice and wheat grass.  I soothe a lot.  I also take New Chapter's 'Reishi' and 'Liver Force' to rebuilt my body.  Well I have been taken those for months and the effect are good. At least I am healthy. (even though with my drinks in the past).
There is another natural Chinese remedy 'Kudzu', it helps to subside the craving of alcohol and heal hangover too, it has been use by the Chinese since thousands years ago, or Ladies, maybe you want to try.  Check in the website.

Way to go Black Pearl.   Making the decision to not have brandy in the house is really smart.   You'll be through the withdrawal soon and start to feel better.   It's really hard at first, but it does get easier.

Congrats BP. You are amazing. Walking through this, and we all come out the other side intact, even though at times it feels impossible.

Hi Vincenza and the ladies,
Thanks for your support. I feel better with the withdrawal.  Even though I was still sweating last night and woke up in the middle of the night, have the urge for some brandy, but I counted 1, 2, 3.....till I fallen ino alseep again. (don't know which number I counted to)
Good strategy that I decided to have no brandy at home. Even I have my crave for brandy in the evening or at midnight, ah, I have nothing....the store was closed. I believe that I can control myself not to have brandy anymore. My body is now cleaning up itself from the alcohol in my body, so even I sweat at night, I know that the sweating is pushing the toxic of alcohol from my body.  I take it as a good sign.
I have only half glass of wine tonight becasue I don't want to cut totally at such a short time. But I know, one day I will be alcohol free.
Cheers up ladies, let's walk hands and hands to have our life starts over again.
Sleep dream.
Have to wake up at 6:30am tomorrow and now should be the 'sleeping beauty' time!

Hi Black Pearl,

You are taking many great steps towards cutting out alcohol in your life.  Placing your graduation photo where you can see it everyday is a great reminder of who you are at the core.  Take each day at a time and you will transform yourself and begin to feel as vibrant as you did without the alcohol.

We're here for you - post often to let us know how you're doing.

Black Pearl, what a great idea to hang a past photo of yourself on the wall as a reminder of what life was like before alcohol, and how it can be again.  I'm so glad to hear that you are feeling better today. I think you are doing wonderfully in your journey and I'm  in awe of your strength and determination.  Every step you take is a big step in the right direction.  We are all here for you and to support you however you need to supported.

Hi Black Pearl,

It sounds like you are doing well with your plan.   I know for me, when I'm going through withdrawal that drinking Gatorade helps.   At any rate drink lots of fluids and eat small high protein meals.

hi ladies,
I feel much better today even though I was still sweating last night and I can't sleep then. I finally woke up and have a can of cream of mushroom and I asked myself to clam down and sleep again.
I woke up at 10:30 this morning and had some fruits for my breakfast. I think the risk of seizure with the withdrawal is low, so I will keep on to my 'control' plan.
The craving is here of course, for a sip of brandy, especially in the holiday.  Too bad, I told myself, "this house is brandy free..."
I also posted my long graduated photo in my bedroom so evenever I wake up, I could see myself, then I will ask, 'why this person turns out to be like this...'  so I tried to find answers for this question to subside my crave.
English is not my first language, but I still hope I could express my feeling and thought here as much as I could to go through this tough journey, and I hope we could support each others hands in hands too.

You're doing great BP....you are a very strong lady.  I had a slip last night and drank far too much beer.  I am starting over again today, I need to get my addiction under control and my quest for sobriety back on track.  How are you feeling today?  It sounds like your withdrawal symptoms are not so severe as they were the other night.
