Friday Support Pledge

13 years ago 0 156 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Hi,
I've been away for a while, but now I'm trying this again. I'm on day 5 and really tired right now.
Did lots of housecleaning yesterday and by the time it was bed time, I couldn't sleep.
I will be attending a meeting on Saturday but I'm not sure if I can do the whole AA thing again.
I guess I'll know after that meeting. I had 2 1/2 years of sobriety 5 years ago and alot of bad things happened
when I went back to drinking.
I want to get life right again. Thanks for listening.

On Day 5 sober now and I feel good.  Doing lots of housecleaning and drinking a ton of perrier.  NYE will be a challenge but everywhere else should be ok.  Today's pledge - I will not drink today :)

Good work, Choosing!  A challenging time to avoid all the festive drinks! What are you doing instead? And how are you feeling on Day 4?

It's day 4 sober for me and I make the pledge to stick to my goals - boy am I ever getting a lot of housework done to distract myself!

I am making this pledge tonight. Sticking with my plan and being available to give support and ASK for it too.

Great ideas Ashley and m, I love listening to music and dancing! Anything music related! Good for the soul!

Any new coping mechanisms to add?

Oh...  I read or play computer games sometimes.

~m,

Other coping mechanisms could be talking to a loved one, exercise, journalling, meditation, going for a walk, positive self talk, etc.

What other coping mechanisms do you have?

Umm, I'm not sure.  Like what?
