Well said Athena and I also want to do this. Why is it so hard to hold on to my positive side? I think I am strong but I must really be very weak. I do not like to admit this though.
Welcome back Athena How did you do with your new specific goals? Setting and keeping them is so much harder than it seems like it should be. I think with practice that it gets easier. Hang in there. We are still here for you.
How will I know when I reach my goal? Interesting question. I guess I need to be more specific.
Today I have two goals:
1. Take my vitamins
2. When I catch myself arguing with myself or criticizing myself, I will stop and try to imagine how I would respond if I was talking to one of my children (because I am patient and caring and nurturing with them).
My reward: sit down and read a book or watch TV (something I want to read or watch...)
My goal for today is stop fighting myself. I need to hang on to the positive part of me and just ignore the negative thoughts rather than wasting so much energy trying to change them. I want to calm my mind and accept that I need attention and care - from myself.
