Congrats to you also LittlT because you are on Day 2 and will soon be on Day 3. That takes courage and you have the desire and will power because you know how much better you will feel with each sober day you have. So keep refocusing and posting.

Congrats on your Day 4 marylizy.  ~m is correct.  You're not the only one who slid over the holidays.  I am back to Day 2 and I am sooo ready to get back on track myself.  Back on track for me is to remain sober, get back to my normal workout and diet routine, and to get back to the mental and physical levels I was at just a couple months ago.  I'm already feeling better just having regained my grip and refocused my efforts.  Getting my head in the right place is half the battle for me.

Thanks for the support healthyj. You know it is hard but it feels so good to succeed. Heading to day 4.  Was at my book club meeting yesterday and the girls were drinking champagne and I was able to resit the temptation. Wow, that made me feel so empowered and proud of myself. Not getting too cocky just giving myself a little pat on the back.

Marylizy:  You have such great insight!  Sounds like you have a plan!

Thank you m for the post. I appreciate the positive way you put it "knowing we can get back on track."  To me that means keeping in the forefront of my mind my desire to stay sober and not allow my self to be side tracked. Easier said than done when in a group of friends drinking. So that leads me to having to admit that I need some time away from my drinking buddies in order to make this work for me. It will make it that much easier to avoid the situations where I have a hard time saying no. So thanks again and have a wonderful day.

Hey Marylizy and Athena... I know you both can get back on your respective tracks.  Primarily because your track is still close, right there beside you and won't take the supreme effort to find like it did in the first place.  I am sure there are other members who are less than thrilled with how they managed the holidays and this is a good place to share those thoughts and experiences.   I'm interested in what "being on track" means for each of us.  Is it the same or unique to each person?
