Drinking habit...want to change it!

Rayoflight, thank you so much for your encouraging words. It is so nice to find encouragement and support like yours on here.

I started setting goals for myself...limiting the amount of alchol in each drink, and then I'm hoping to just cut down the drinks one by one.

Has anyone else found this helpful?

Welcome to the site, well you have taken the first step to making a change. You joined the site! Yes we are creatures of habit, but that doesn't mean that we can't change our habits. It does take time, effort, dedication and you need to want to change. Alcohol was really messing up my life, I let everyone around me down including myself. I had lots of guilt and shame for things that I had done and was just going in circles. So here you are! Dive in and make it happen! I support you 100%!

Hi everyone, I am fairly new here...I have read through most of the posts and everyone seems to nice and helpful. You are all so brave to share your stories on here, know that you hav been an inspiratoin for me to finally post.
 
I have noticed dthat my drinking tends to start early in the morning...sometimes it can be included with the coffee (baileys, whiskey) and then it progresses through the day...whenever I go out, when I come back I just go right for mixing myself a drink...
 
I don't know where to start...the program so far seems good. I guess education is key after all...but I just wanted to see what others thought or found useful on how to change their habits. I'm a creature of habit...it's hard for me to think of ideas on how to change...maybe someone out there can help?
