Hi banjogal,

We are here for you through this tough time as we always will be. I am sorry to hear that you have been reverting back to old habits. Besides the possibility of being pregnant, has something in your life changed recently? What are possible solutions to these recent changes?  What are some alternative ways to cope?

In the case that you are pregnant, here is some information about alcohol and pregnancy.

* There is no known safe level of alcohol use in pregnancy.

* Drinking at any point during pregnancy may increase the risk of miscarriage, premature delivery, stillbirth and other problems.

* Alcohol use during any stage of pregnancy can cause fetal alcohol syndrome (FAS), which may result in physical deformities and problems with physical, mental and emotional growth. Less severe forms of these problems are referred to as fetal alcohol effects (FAE).

Recommendations During Pregnancy

* It is best not to drink while pregnant.

* If you have problems quitting, seek medical help or counselling about how to reduce or stop drinking.

We are here for you banjogal, please do post and let us know how you got through this night.

Hi all,
I was online a few years ago - when things were bad. I'm back again I guess simply because it's 3.48am, I have drunk too much yet again and I can't go to bed and stop. I have been worse than normal lately, though realistically I'm happy - no big reasons for adopting old habits. Life's good. I may be pregnant. So why am I heading down this path again and why is it so difficult to stop drinking? If I could avoid it at least one night a week I'd be proud! Any thoughts? Thanks...
