Hi Sparrow,
Sorry to hear you are having a tough day. It is normal to want comfort when we feel crummy. It sounds like finding alternative ways to comfort yourself will be a big part of fighting this addiction. What are a few ways you can try to comfort yourself? Right now, it is ok not to know - right now is about experimenting and finding new ways to comfort yourself. If you need help with ideas I am sure the members would love to help. I recommend mindfulness, walking in nature and snuggling up with a loved one or pet.
I hope you are able to find some comfort today.
Stay strong,
Ashley

Hi Sparrow,
I'm sorry to hear about your slip and your health concerns. I am glad you are here, right back at it though. Congratulations on Day 1! Try not thinking of it as starting at square one. Try to remember all the things you learned last time you quit. All that important wisdom is still there. You are now more equipped to have a successful forever quit. You have already took the toughest step by getting started. We will be here to support you every step of the way.
Side note: Thank you for sharing instructions on adding a picture John!

Hi Tim
Im on day 1 of my quit. I can't believe I have to start all over again! I'm feeling average....using the nicotine spray to help cravings. Yes it was definitely the meds that caused the relapse. They weirded me out too much. Now lm not on them which is better for my mind and worse for my body....can't win. I just want to hang in here and do this and this time NEVER go back. Thanks Tim ?

Hi Sparrow,
How are you doing today? Remember your deep breathing exercises to help you out when feeling low and when urges hit you. I hope your pain is controllable if you stop the medicines. Have you talked to your doctor about stopping yet? You're not out of control. It's just that nasty addicting habit trying to get back into your life. You gave that Nico-Demon one heck of a scare by quitting that's for sure. ? Do you think for sure it was the meds that made you cave in? You didn't mix them with alcohol did you? You know how bad that stuff is for letting your guard down. I hope you're feeling better today. You saw the light at the end of the tunnel once, and you'll see it again I'm sure. ?

Thanks so much Tim and John. I've stopped taking the offending medication but it's still in my system and lm hanging for a smoke. It's weird...when l have them l don't want them and l smoke real quick to finish the pack then when l run out l wanna buy some more. The craziness of addiction ?
I'll get there....l know l will, just feel so down being sick and want some comfort. Doesn't help that it's freezing cold here and l don't want to go outside to do stuff.
Ive done this before...l can do it again!
Thsnks so much for yr support ❤
