Hi Sparrow,

So sorry to read about your slip. They can feel very disappointing. I am really impressed with you accountability and resolve though. That attitude will ensure your success! Just keep moving forward.

What do you think you learned from this past slip? Do you know what may have triggered the slip? This hard learned wisdom will help you to prevent future slips.

Keep posting,

Ashley

Hi Sparrow,

I just had a flash when I read your last message. Don't know why but I imagined you standing there with two holsters on you. One had your spray, one had your patches, and you had a chocolate bar hanging from your neck, and you were ready to take on the world. Boy do I need a vacation!. "Ive just gotta use my willpower l think" That you do. Just be stronger than the urge no matter what. Life's always going to throw you curve balls, just gotta learn how to deal and live with them. You can do this Sparrow, I just know you can!

Hi Sparrow,

Sorry to hear about the slip again. Don't beat yourself up, just get back on your quit journey. I wish I could give you some advice about how to deal with the medication side affects, but I have nothing that comes to mind. Try searching in these forums. You can go back over a decade now instead of the two year limit that was on the old site. There may be some helpful information for you in here. I wish you the best!

Hi Sparrow

OK mate your setting your quit meter for tomorrow, I'm just wondering do you have any NRT that could help with the first days ?, I used patches for a couple of weeks they helped but I just did not buy any more when I run out, wishing you all the best on your quit journey and hope to chat to you soon.

Have a good smoke free day 😀

S**t guys!!! I bombed out, picked up a packet of cigs yesterday. I'm sooo disappointed in myself and when lm smoking them lm just thinking cancer, stroke, disease. I feel like lve had a really good run smoking to not have gotten any disease and l can't afford to push my luck. I'm traling medications for my health issues that are giving me an anxiety side effects and that was the trigger. I was so nervous l just needed to smoke....rephrase that because that takes my power away...l have into smoking. I have to figure out a way to deal with medication side effects without smoking. I can do this, l can do this....l just have to be head strong. Ohhhh lm really pissing myself off now. I will reset my quit Meter to tomorrow and start again. Wish me luck! I lovvvved not smoking way better than lm loving this. That can be my inspiration...remembering how good it feels to be a quitter. I will come here to vent when l have a craving. Prepare to hear a lot from me 😂

Hi Sparrow

I'm sure a little chocolate won't hurt and thank you, I just take one day at a time, my treat is Nuts (mixed) mostly when I'm gaming 😁

It says day 9 on my quit Meter but l don't think it's that long. I'm not counting this time round...too disappointed l failed. So lm still resisting but the craving flood gates are open. I may have to do what you suggested Tim and give way to comfort food...at least it's healthier than smoking and chocolate does make everything better 😁

Yes it is my cat Tim. I just couldn't get a good shot of her. My two cats would live on my lap if they could. It's like having babies. Pets are the best medicine. They love you no matter what. It doesn't show here but it may as well it's so cold this winter. The mountains are a 3hr drive away. I would love to see snow...it's so pretty. The cold weather doesn't help quitting because lm shut indoors too much. I can't wait for spring time and sunny days to take away these winter blues 🌻 🌿 ☀

This site sure is quiet these days. John you've done fantastic...keep it up won't you! And Tim you must be on a thousand and something days. You guys are my inspiration 🌟

Hi Sparrow,

I hope today is going better for you. Keep using your spray like you did the last time to take the edge off. Don't give in just because you're feeling low due to your health. You're stronger than you think you are. Can you think of other ways of comforting yourself other than a cigarette? If all else fails, and I really hate to suggest this, what about some comfort foods? I know, you might be worried about gaining some weight, but, at least it might help you from smoking. You can work on losing weight AFTER you get your quit back under control. Is that a cat in your avatar? You can get lots of comfort from cuddling with them....if THEY allow it. LMAO. My cat doesn't really like to be held much, dang it. It's winter time for you now I think. Do you get any snow there, just curious? Just keep taking it one day at a time Sparrow, and try not to worry about the future. I wish you the best for both your quit journey and your health issues. Hang in there girl. 🚭
