Hi Strength and welcome to SSC

I used NRT for two weeks but stopped because I got a few strange dreams also kept forgetting to put a new one on when I got out of bed, but they did help , good luck with your quit journey stay with it and it does get better by the day and its very much worth it.

Welcome Strength,

Congrats on getting started. Timbo gave great advice. I also encourage you to work through the program and read through the forums.  Information and supports help you to increase your chances of success. You may also want to talk to you about quit aids that can help. There are lots of options, like Timbo mentioned.

If you have any thoughts or questions please let us know. We are here to support you, every step of the way.

Hi Strength,
I'd start out by going through the "my program" program at the top of the page. It has some information on what to expect and some tips on how to deal with it. Then, if you have the time, read through these forums. There is all kinds of information in here from quitters that have made the transition to being a quitter. Another thing that may help you is to use NRT, nicotine replacement therapy. The patch, champix, chantix,  nicotine gum or spray and a number of other helps aids to help you quit. Determination and a good mind set also helps to conquer this demon monster called Nicotine. I wish you the best on your upcoming surgery, and your quit journey.
Stay strong.
