Unless I'm wrong, you should be starting on your second month as a quitter now. Congratulations on being smoke free for a month Betts!!! Is it getting any easier for you yet?
Got through day 11, day 12 feel a little better.
I have been walking when the smoking urge hits me. I walk between 8000 and 10000 steps a day. If nothing else I should not gain any weight
Just keep fighting those urges the best you can. It WILL get easier, but I can't say how long it will take. Try and keep a positive attitude with you to help fight those urges. You have come a long way already, and you can't give in to that darn nicotine. Believe it or not your are WINNING, although you may not feel like you are. Your body has already started the process of repairing the damage you did to it by smoking. Now you just need to convince yourself that you CAN beat this addiction.
What are you struggling with? Is it the urges from the lack of nicotine, the "what do I do to keep my hands busy doing now", or is it the "what do I do to fill the time that I used to smoke", or is it something else? You're doing great so far. 12 days without poisoning yourself with that nasty drug. You have made it this far, and you have been fighting it the whole way it sounds like. You are starting to take back control of your life now. It's a new lifestyle, and just about everything is going to change for you. Are you keeping yourself busy, that helps? Hang in there Betts.
Hi Betts, stick with it! I too (and many others it seems) really struggled in the second week. That was "grind time" for me, where it was just about getting through the days and there didn't seem to be a lot of payoff in return. It is a very normal (and temporary!) phase of the quit. I think Timbo refers to it as Heck Week, if I'm not mistaken. Keep posting here, keep reading here, and keep telling yourself not one puff, not today." We're here for you. 11 days smoke-free is amazing. 12 will be even more amazing :)
