Welcome Jake2019,

Congratulations on getting started. Most quitters take multiple attempts before they have a successful quit. All of those past experiences can inform you now. You can do it!

How are you planning on coping with the withdrawal and cravings this time?

Hi Jake2019,
Congratulations on deciding to quit smoking. Sorry to hear why too. How is your first day going for you? Have you managed to stay quit today? You said that you have tried to quit before, how long was your longest stretch of quitting? How long were you a smoker? If you did not do this yet, go through the "my program" program at the top of the page. It has some good hints and tips for helping you along your quit journey. Also, if you have the time, read through these forums. There is a lot of good information in here to, to help you on your quit. The more you know about what to expect and how to deal with it, the better your chances are for making this quit stick forever!
Stay strong.

Hi Jake! Yes one thing for sure this nasty addiction is not an easy one to quit. Have you ever tried using a nicotine patches or other quitting aides?  I used the nicotine patches and it was a blessing for me. I knew I just wasn't strong enough to quit cold turkey. One thing I will say is that once I decided to quit and focused on quitting one day at a time it was quite helpful. Along with the physical addition comes the mental addition as well. For me I would have to say that the mental part of the quit is by far the most difficult. Change daily habits up, go home from work using different routes, change the times of regular routines, these things are helpful as well. Best of luck to you on your journey and be sure to keep us updated.

Hi everyone I am new here. I have tried to quit several times and did not make it. I am tired of being chained to these stinky cancer sticks. I need to have surgery in 6 months. But need to be smoke free. So tomorrow I.am going to quit again. I know I can do it just got to get through the withdrawals and cravings. You all have a great evening.
