Good idea. I poured over a lot of stop smoking material when l was first quitting and l still read stuff here. It helps put it in perspective when you are craving. Smoking 1 a day youre off to a good start. You can do this. Much luck!!

Hi Redfish61,
Welcome to the Stop Smoking Center. Congratulations on giving it another go on quitting smoking. It sounds like you have had limited success in the past, but that darn Nico-Demon keeps pulling you back in to his domain. One of these days you will be able to beat this addiction, so long as you keep trying. Never give up, never surrender!!! On your past attempts, do you know what the trigger was to make you cave in? Was it a different trigger each time, or the same one? Each time we fail, we build up more knowledge to be able to fight the urge and beat it the next time. Knowledge seems to be the key. The more you know about what to expect, and how to prepare and deal with it, the better off you are to beat this darned life sucking addiction.  If you have the time, I'd suggest that you go through the "my program" program at the top of the page, and then read through these forums. There is a lot of great information in here to help you on your quit journey. You can also get your meter running so you and we can keep track of your progress. You can do that by going into the "my program" then the settings area. I wish the best on your quit journey.
Stay strong.

HI, trying to quit again, the 27th was my quit date. Have had one small cigar a day since then. I am using chantix and lozenges to help with the cravings. The damn cravings are what gets me. I sure can give myself a good pep talk, but when a craving hits hard, all the things I tell myself  take a back seat and I cave in. I have gone fifty days once, thirty days here, a week or so there, but the cravings always get me.  So,..gonna try this too, when a craving gets bad, hit the computer.
