    Cigarettes Not Smoked

Thank you, Tim. I smoked for 38 years about 10 cigarettes per day or more if I was socially drinking. I don’t drink unless I go out with friends to dinner or a party, so that I don’t have to deal with that trigger much. I recently went on nights at work, so at least I can sleep afterwards. I find taking a nap when feasible helps me. I have cut way back on my coffee intake, but I do need a couple cups when I am working all night. I had a terrible upper respiratory infection where I was so sick for a week, and that made my mind up. I was tired of not feeling well. I’m finding that week 2 has actually been a little harder than week 1. I did start with the Nicotrol patch but became quite nauseated so I had to go down to a smaller dose patch and that seems to have helped quite a bit. Appreciate the support.

Welcome Catrina!

Congratulations on 12 days! I am sorry you are having such bad cravings. Know that this will get better and you are already through the worst of it. Post here as often as you like. Keep taking it one minute, one hour, one day at a time. You can do this!

Hi Catrina,
Welcome to the Stop Smoking Center. Day 12 already...good for you!  You've made it through hell week and heck week is almost over now.  Are you going cold turkey or are you using Nicotine Replacement Therapy? How long were you a smoker? Have you tried to quit before? Wow, working from home, I'll bet it's hard to change up your routine from when you smoked then. Hang in there, you are doing great so far. Its all a mental fight for you now that the nicotine is out of your system. I wish you the best on your quit journey.
Stay strong.

Hello, I am 12 days smoke free and had a very rough night last night. I work nights and work from home, and this by far was my worst day for cravings.
