Scared of Failing Again

6 years ago 0 11214 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Welcome!

I am glad you are continuing to try despite not having a successful quit yet. It often takes people multiple attempts before they have a successful quit so try not to let it discourage you. Failing = learning. I encourage you to work through the program to create a quit plan. Keep reading and learning. The more you prepare for your quit the more likely you will be successful. What seems to help when you quit? What doesn't work for you? Keep growing both lists and you will eventually find what works! All attempts are positive regardless if you fail or succeed.

38 Y/O female. I’ve smoked heavily for the last 24 years, with the exception of a quit that lasted a year and a half that I blew four years ago, well on vacation. I haven’t smoked in three days. I don’t want to be a slave to nicotine anymore! War of my life so far!! I need to win!

I truly feel for you, been there, just don't  give up. I finally succeded when I cut back little by little. Over time time I  went from 1 pack a day to 12 then from 12 to 4 a day. One day I got up , was so done with worrying about when I could have my next puff that I quit altogether.
I also keep a brand new pack in my bedroom drawer ....just knowing it's  there really helps me. I also use the Nicorette gum , so if I am having a bad craving I pop one in my mouth.
I smoked for 47 years and finally had to bite the bullet when my Dr. was having trouble controlling my blood pressure.  The damage is done for me I'm  afraid but could have been much worse.

Different methods work for different people, just take your quit to a different method. You can do this,  it'll  be  a  year for me soon before you know it you'll  be there too.☺

I am a  36 y/o man who has been smoking since I was 15. I have been trying to quit with little or no success for the last 2 years. I am just so tired of feeling this way and really look forward to communicating with others who are in the same scenario.
