Full time smoker down to weekends only but stuck in this loop!

Hi Kitten99,
3 weeks is a great run of not smoking. If that's all you can do before caving in, then go for it. 3 weeks is better than not trying. You can say you're quitting smoking 3 weeks at time.   It all adds up over time. An hour at a time, a day at a time, 3 weeks at a time. Maybe one day you'll say "I think I can do this now" and never have another one again. Make it your goal and give yourself the "gift of life".
Stay strong and watch those triggers.

Welcome Kitten99!

I am sorry to read you are demoralised. Quitting smoking is incredibly hard so I think many members can relate to your frustration. The important part is that you are still trying even though you feel this way. That is amazing! Research shows us that if you stay focused on a behaviour change then you will eventually get there. You will get there!

As you can see the members here offer great support and advice. I also encourage you to work through the program to create your quit plan. You also may want to talk to your doctor about quit aid options as there are lots of people who have had success with a variety of different supports. You just need to find the one and the plan that works for you.

We will be here to support you until you get there.

Hi Tim, yeah i thought quitting booze would nail it but i only last about 3 weeks max. I tend to go for so long then get triggered by something like xmas holidays, others smoking near me, the weekend is here (this is a big one). I am going to 'check in'to this site daily as a form of support. Thursday & Friday will be the tough ones for me so I just need to be aware of that and not get complacent. Thank you for your reply!

Hi Kitten99,
Cutting out drinking hasn't helped you? Drinking is a major trigger for smoking. When you quit before, for a year, did you go cold turkey or did you use replacement therapy? What makes you want to smoke a cigarette? Any way you can avoid it? As you know, quitting smoking is a complete lifestyle change. You don't have to plan your life around those nasty stinking things. Can you make yourself a list of WHY you want to quit, then carry it with you at all times for support? You have to be honest with yourself too. Do you really want to quit?
Take that demoralizing feeling you're getting and use it to your advantage. You've quit before and you should be able to quit again. As you know, it can be hard, harder for some than for others. You just have to keep trying. The worst thing you can do is quit trying. Stay strong and take back your life!!

Hello Kitten99,

I tried almost everything and nothing worked for me. My physician recommended a company that sells a spray that is tailored on the brand you smoke.
I bought a spray for Camel and it works for me, I stopped two years ago and don't feel any craving.
Hope that help

Hi, I'm new here. I've tried vapes, cold turkey and hypnotherapy. I lasted a year once but relapsed when drinking. I've been stuck in a sad loop of 5 days-21 days off for years now before i buy a pack. I'm so demoralised. I don't drink anymore which i thought would help but it hasn't. Can anyone relate & found success?
