You are right - quitting is incredibly hard. Slips and relapses, unfortunately, are a common part of quitting. The key is to learn from it each time. What did you learn from your last few slips?
My quit date was a little over 5 weeks ago and it is the hardest thing I think I've ever done. I quit for over a year about 4 years ago and did not experience the almost constant craving I have now (I let a stressful situation get to me and started smoking again). I quit cold turkey before and am using Welbutrin this time. I have slipped up and smoked a handful of times in the last 5 weeks. I don't want to buy a pack of smokes, I really don't. I have been gardening and starting new craft projects to occupy my mind and hands, I wonder why the cravings are so fierce this time. Is anyone else having such a hard time?
