Congrats on getting started. It sounds like you are ready! If you are considering taking Wellbutrin I insist on you seeing a doctor first. You will need a prescription and you will need to start taking it two weeks before you quit smoking. Your doctor will also want to monitor your progress and check in on mood and other possible side effects of the medication.
Hello, and congratulations on your making the attempts at quitting smoking! I am also getting ready to quit. I tried a 24 hour dry run, but failed.
I have been smoking for almost two years; however, I had quit for six years prior to that, after having almost an identical pattern to you. Started at 13 and quit in early 20s.
Now don't let the fact that I started smoking again, after six years, scare you away. It was a conscious decision, and was the wrong one. Being smoke-free is the way to go!
I wish I could speak to Wellbutrin, but I quit cold turky the first time. Let me know if you decide to go that rout, there are a lot of things to talk about.
I'm an almost 22 year old who's been smoking to 'be a part of a crowd' since the age of 13. Now, long past that stage in my life, I've tried quitting a couple of times, but have never been as serious as I am now. I've planned everything out, set my quitting date, and am excited to start reducing my tabacco intake and buying the supplies I've decided might work for me. I have a bottle of Wellbrutin left over but am not sure if I should try it. Has anyone tried it and has any advice for me?
