I know what you mean about cravings. In my other dozen or so quit attempts, the cravings were more there than not....I used the patch, gum, lozenges, some weird thing where they shocked me in my ear.......this time it was cold turkey and the cravings...if there are any...last seconds....very bizzare. I bought 8 weeks worth of Habitrol patches for Christmas and still have 54 out of the 56 patches. Between Christmas and Jan 3rd I had a total of 10 or so cigarettes.....then just stopped. You can beat this....it really is something that can be done. :)
I've pretty much decided those people who say the cravings will only last 'minutes' are complete and total liars. I've had one long craving since I woke up today, and if it hasn't been for prior experience to just keep my butt seated on my bed and refuse to step foot out of my apartment, I probably would have already failed.
My cats are receiving the side-effects however. Every time they get near me, I've gone Elmira on them and smothered them in kisses. Literally. Then they'll come for another one and they'll be shoved into the floor. Poor things.
Good luck to everyone! I'm here with ya'll and we can do this! I'm not worried about the first few weeks. It's always around week 3-4 that has been my downfall. Hopefully I can make a habit out of utilizing cessation help more before then so I can break through that wall!
