Half way through Hell week - Day 4

I agree with Workin'!  it's great to see you new quitters figuring out how to make your quit(s) stick - with lots of support from each other and as many veteran quitters as you need to succeed!  Yay for us all for making this life saving decision :)  Good for you Sarah, Clearsky and Carol!  Keep up the great work - you're rocking this quit now!

So cool to see a bunch of new quitters making good progress and supporting one another. It was getting a little lonely on this board.

Clearsky and Sarah you are both Rocking it!!!!  Keep up the good work and positive attitude!!!  Believing that you are giving yourself a precious gift is empowering.  And that is exactly what we are doing giving ourselves the precious gift of Life.  Live it well, Enjoy your freedom.  I am walking the walk right along with both of you :)

Keep up the great work clearsky786 I am starting Day 9 and let me tell you that it gets easier as the days go by. I am glad Hell week is over and heck week is in progress as I am looking forward to hitting the 2 week mark.

Keep saying to yourself, N.O.P.E. as that really did work for me (also being in the middle of nowhere for four days helped with not having easy access).

Good luck! You can do this :) Just believe in yourself!

Today is my fourth day , I had made it without any slips , as such I am not having any strong withdrawal which requires me to light up , infact on the contrary now have started feeling repulsive towards the smoke odor and feeling a pity on smokers who are still smoking .

Having small feeling of emptiness inside, just drinking a lot of water whenever have such feeling.

Hope I am do not have any relapse

Cheers

I have made it to Day 4 with no slips, no breakdowns, no crazy mood swings, and no real urges. I feel as if I am in denial or something. Shouldn't I be feeling worse? I even had two glasses of wine last night and didn't feel the urge. Am I in the calm before the storm? Any suggestions, help, prognosis would be really helpful. Thanks
Oh, at first I thought you were having no withdrawal symptoms, and I was thinking, "Boy is sarahboy lucky." LOL

As for the moods, I don't think bad moods are necessarily part of the process. I don't remember being particularly cranky during physical withdrawal and in the weeks that followed. Instead, I was kind of tripped out. Everything had kind of a surreal feeling. I had some time distortions, and not just in relation to the craves. I had a sense that I was acting kind of weird, but when I asked friends, they said that I was acting normal. I think I may also have been kind of overly happy, since I was excited to be getting the drug out of my system. Also, when it was finally all out (3 days, approximately) I felt a huge sense of peace and relief.

There have been a few times (and I'm talking less than once a month) over the course of the past year in which I've found myself irrationally angry over something. I'm not sure what that's about. It is a new thing for me. It could be just because I don't have the old crutch of "smoking it off" when something made me mad. Or it might be related to hormonal shifts that just happen to be occurring these days. I'm honestly not sure. What I do know is that it's been manageable so far. I know when I'm feeling irrational and I have managed to not lash out on the people who have triggered it. (I did give one of the health educators an "earful" a while back, but the target of my rage was not the health educator. I just chose to have a 3rd party vent session instead of going off on someone.)

So, no, I don't think you necessarily have to get mean and nasty as part of your quit. Everyone has a different process.

Yay!  You are both doing great!  Keep up the fine work and you'll make it through this thing!  Remember N.O.P.E.  That is the key that opened the door to my freedom - it is invigorating and life changing when you are free from the addiction!  Great work Sarah and Carols!

Sarah sounds like you are doing Great!!!!  Go with the flow and don't worry about things that haven't happened.  Granted I'm new at this quitting business but ride the good times for all they are worth no matter what the undertaking is my motto :)  Use the easier times to get you through the difficult times!

I think my first anger fit as you so eloquently put it was day 10, so there may be one lurking.  Be as prepared for it as possible, IF it happens. Don't wish it here :)    My first week was mostly an upbeat, positive week probably because I was riding the motivation and benefits I experienced in short order.    Maybe you are also?

The reason I posted this, which may not come across in the earlier post, is that I am concerned that I am getting my hopes up and that I will have some crazy meltdown soon. Dont get me wrong, I am thinking about smoking all the time, but I haven't had any cry's, anger fits, depressed states, etc. I am just a little worried and scared that I am missing something, thats all.
Thanks for listening
