Also tonight I attend a Quit Program; 1.5 hours at a local hospital, weekly for 4 weeks.  That should really keep me motivated.  Strong cravings right will go to the park and have a brisk walk, breathing deeply.

Thanks again, looking at your quit stats gives me power!

OMG I've done it, 24 Hours :)  Started a day early because I bought non menthols and Yuck one puff was awful.  So I decided that was it.  Had some very strong cravings throughout the day but walked or talked to loved ones.  Went out to dinner and a movie with non smoking friends.

I have the mindset of a Winner!!!!  This will be a journey but I'm a non-smoker!!!! For now one day at a time :)

Thanks for the support, I really appreciate it :)

Hello and welcome Carols. Working On It has done it , Lolly 2 has done it and so can you. Perhaps with being retired  you'll find it easier to stop now that there isn't the added stress of working. This is the fight of your life and we're in your corner. Keep cold water on hand for the craves and remember to deep breathe. This could very well be the best decision that you've ever made. Excellent for you. breather

Dear Carols,

I certainly wish you a happy quit!  Well done for preparing, as it makes all the difference!  Do post and read often here at SSC, historically there are thousands of great ideas and posts from which to learn.

Whatever it takes, just don't smoke!!!

Lolly.

Congratulations on finishing your homework and setting the date. Those first 3 days can be pretty wacky, so stay close and post as often as you need. Let us know if you need anything.
