Hey Bkamath,

Keep writing and keep reading!  Read through the entire Program, read and use the Tools and read more posts here on the Forums.  This is one way to keep  you distracted and not smoking.  If you get bored with that, go for a walk or do some exercises!  Drink plenty of ice cold water and eat fruits!  Think about a hobby you might be interested in!  Now that you are not smoking, you have more time to do more things.  You are gaining your freedom so think of something to do with your new found freedom!  Mainly, keep telling yourself that you can and you are doing this!

Hi Fren's

The day is passed out with no smokes .. Tomorrow I plan to take a off from office and stay at home to keep myself away from cig's ( I only smoke when I am in Office ) .. This is actually I am running out from the situation where there are more chances of getting slipped .. what do you suggest ..??

But fren's today really I have left a hope ... Till now when I return home without even a single smoke I used to feel like I have really defeated Hercules in the battle ..

Now i have defeated him six times and now it feels bored winning all the time and feels to surrender once ha just once and say hey Hercules here it is I am tapping out enjoy your victory ...!!! tomorrow again I will pin you down don't forget that I am stronger than you now ...

Fren's I don't know how you reply to all these stupid stories i write .. But I feel it distracted when I think of writing this kind of stories ...

God damn till how many days I need to consider not smoking as a struggle ...

Great attitude!

Boredom can be a killer of quits. Find ways to distract yourself. Posting here and plannign your reward is a good option - what else can you do today?

OK take a deep breath, do it again.  Day 6 is awful but you can manage it.  No one can stop you from smoking.  Now if you choose to what will you gain and what will be lost?  OK take a couple more deep breaths.  Use the time that you would smoke and take a walk around the office or go outside and walk a few blocks and while doing that enjoy taking deep breaths.  Now get a glass of ice cold water with ice and enjoy the sips.  Get a straw and cut it to the size of a cig and use that to take your drags off of.  More deep breaths.  Write you list of what you will gain by not smoking and what you will lose if you do.  Keep that with you.  Now let's get though this day.

Hi ..
I am 100% sure that if I am going to slip now if  I find someone walking with a cigarette around me .. This is actually a bad situation for me now ..

But but but ... this will never happen,  reason is ..

Once I am in the office there are only 3 source of cigarette for me  ..
1. My Bag --> I did not buy any cigarette today morning & to buy now i need to walk 2 miles to find a shop which I am lazy enough to do ..
2. My Boss --> He is not in office so no chance of taking a cigarette from him..
3. My Smoker Colleague --> He is also not in office and will be in working in our another branch for long time ..

Once its 6:00 PM then I go home on my Company bus and directly get down near my home were I don't smoke at all ..

So dear Nico Demon you are not gonna get anything how much ever louder you shout .. There is no more cigarettes been produced for you dear , GET LOST  ...!!!

Hi Bkamath,

Glad that you came here instead of lighting up. Yes, this does sound like Hell Week. But guess what? It will get better.

Here's an idea for an exercise to occupy your mind and your time today. Time your craves. Each time you crave for a cigarette, time how long it lasts, and then write it down in a log.
At the end of the day, I'll bet you will be surprised at how short they actually are.

There is some time distortion that goes on in that first week or two of quitting. One minute can seem immensely long and drawn out sometimes. (I had this symptom even when I wasn't craving in that first week. For example, I would be in a short verbal exchange, and it would seem like it was 5 times longer than it actually was. I could imagine the words coming out of my mouth and the other person's mouth in slow motion. It really was a crazy feeling, but also kind of fun at points.   )

My guess is that you are experiencing some craves in that state of mind. It is also good to keep a record of those experiences to compare later, when things are much calmer. And they will be much calmer later.

Good luck today. We're rooting for you.

    Cigarettes Not Smoked

Hi Pals,

Today is my 6th day and I am craving a lot ... Now its 11:00 AM and I'm in office and this used to be my regular time of smoke with my colleagues 5 days ago..

Yesterday my control was better and also din't think much about smoking , and also yesterday I was fully occupied with work ..

But today I don't have anything much to do and I am idle and bored .. I had tried to quit a lot many times earlier but re lapsed mainly when I was idle and when the day was boring ...!!

I am also scared to go home early, because earlier when I used to go home early I used to smoke one before reaching home ..

Damn hell and I am  running out of stock of my green tea bags also ..

This is going to be one tough day ..!!! If I pass this day with no nicotine then I am gonna reward myself with a novel ..!!
