Greger, you can grab an extra straw at any fast food place or coffee shop. I learned early on to lay off the sticky hard candies, jerkies, gum, etc. when my fillings started coming loose. A bottle of ice cold water or tea is a great distractor.
Eventually, you'll get beyond that need to have something in your mouth all the time...that is a great feeling!
Rusty :)

My 0 calorie surrogates are kitchen matches, I just happened to have a box of them on my desk the day I quit. I've been meaning to get some of those little coffee straws, I've never noticed but I guess they sell 'em at the supermarket.....

I used to suck on straws, shorts ones, you could chew them too if you wanted...they have less calories than what you've been using.

What's in yours? I'm so utterly sick of Altoids, matchsticks and sugar free gum that I'm looking for new horizons in things to stick in my mouth when the junky tells me to smoke. I just added beef jerky to mine, pretty good stuff, it lasts a while and isn't terribly unhealthy.
