Oh, Roses. I am so sorry that your year anniversary wasn't as you had hoped. ...You can still reward yourself in the next few days or weeks. Sometimes those anniversaries don't line up with what is going on in our lives.

I still feel like I "cheated" somehow by rewarding myself yesterday. But it was that or drop another $1600 into an old car that I would probably need to trade in pretty soon anyway. So I "celebrated" early.

Sounds great and Big Congrats on staying quit during the stress of buying a new car..Plus Congrats on being One year smoke-free yesterday and also One year nicotine free on May 8...

As for me I am going to Exit now and give you center stage..being my One year anniversary was yesterday. Yesterday is over and today is another day..I sure am glad yesterday is behind me now..I though it was going to be a Great day full of joy but it turned out to be much different than I had expected..I never expected it to be a day full of competition..Not what I pictured at all really for a One Year Anniversary Celebration..I spent the afternoon fighting the urge to smoke..I never really did anything special yesterday..Oh Well there is always next year I hope..Yes we do have on thing in common even with all the negatives and stresses yesterday I didn't smoke either..

I am still working on today..Staying Quit that is.

Fighting those demons and the negative thoughts again.

I had really planned on counting May 8th as THE DAY, since that was the first day that I was truly free of nicotine. I had also planned to get Cool Sculpting or going to Costa Rica instead of getting a car. But it all worked out this way instead. I guess my trip this year will be a road trip....

I got one of the new Ford Fiestas, white, with a whole bunch of add-ons and some fancy buttons that I might never understand. I've been haggling all day (12 hours) , as I started out with a smaller price on a much simpler model. Literally had two meal breaks during the process. Was one of the first people on the lot this morning and the last one off it tonight.

Lots of high emotion as the deal was argued and changed multiple times. At one point, I had 3 sales guys staring me down, and I got up and left the place for a while to regroup.

In the end, I think I got a pretty screaming deal. I paid a couple thousand less than the Kelly Blue Book price for a used one, and mine is brand new! All in all, it's been a long, stressful, yet awesome day.

And guess what? I didn't smoke during any of it.

Congrats Working On It on your Wonderful One year anniversary.I was watching your meter so I thought you had a few more days.

New car ,Wow great reward for a great quit.You have Rewarded so many of us here with all your support , encouragement and entertaining posts as well.

I thank you for that and leading me along the way.

I have a ways to go yet to reach a year but I hope you feel as I am hoping I will feel at a year. I am hoping it gives a feeling of "I have really won this battle and

there is no going back "Be very Proud ,You deserve it.

Working on it. Just to let you know..I think it's great we can celebrate our 1 year anniversaries together. I remember you said before that you just hated having to follow me and my quit dates..Now we can both be in the lime light on the same day. Oh ,Just wondering,I forgot to ask what kind of car did you get?? and what color is it..just being nosy I guess..but you did let the cat out of the bag...I will be looking for Your Story on your blog when you release it..

Big Congrats on your one year being smoke free for one year today..I would of said so sooner but I thought that date was coming next week.. It does get confusing sometimes..Not to worry though. You know the date and that's what matters. A new car is a great reward and that new car smell with no stinky cigarette smell..

I went Cold Turkey so I guess the numbers are not to complicated for me to figure out..Today is my 1 year anniversary too..

Are you celebrating next week too, it being a leap year or whatever you said ?? Thats double the reward. Good idea.

Maybe I'll celebrate next week tooo..Double the pleasure Double the fun...

As of today, I have been smoke free for one year.

The date on my quit meter was May 8th, which was based upon being nicotine free. My last partial nicotine lozenge was on May 7th.

Last year was leap year, so my '1 year mark' will seem to be on May 7th. Not sure how I want to evaluate that one. I plan to post my story (via blog link) on either the 7th or the 8th.

I just took my car in for repairs today, and I was looking at $1600 + in repairs. I've had some other biggies in the past year or so. ....

It looks like I've saved about $1845 to date on quitting smoking.

So....instead of spending that cash on some expensive repairs, I just spent that $1845 saved and another $155 on a down payment for a brand new car today. I have never had a new car before. Always bought used. But this one was priced the same as used ones, it was kind of a quit anniversary, and I actually had the money.

So I guess my reward kind of presented itself right on time.The new one gets better gas mileage than my old one, so I guess I'll be producing fewer carbon emissions all around.

I got some tears in my eyes as I typed this.
