Hey Beats!!!

Stick close, rant and rave when you need to and read and post!  Distraction is one of the keys to success!  I practically lived on this site for the first few month reading and posting and learning how to beat this addiction!  It does take a lot of willpower and support!  It sounds like you have the first part and now you have found a whole bunch of new quit buddies who are all rooting for you!  Yell if you need a hand!

 Hi beatslbc,
"...feels like I haven't smoked for a 1yr already..lol"  Let me tell you that after 1 year you will feel sooooo great compared to how you feel now, that it really is well worth persevering with the battle.

"But I'm taking one day at a time..."  That is exactly how to reach that first year.  I know how difficult it feels right now with each crave you have, but I'm sure you would agree that actually you feel better now than you did say 10 days ago.  Unfortunately, time seems to stand still and you think you will never get there.

Do read and post lots on this site.  There is so much knowledge here and if you do a search.  You say you are determined to succeed this time round.....that is the key!  Your determination needs to be stronger than your desire to smoke, and you will win!

Plan your weekends so that you can help to avoid the craves.  Stay focused and strong!  This thing is possible, and YOU can do it!

Whatever it takes, just don't smoke!!!

weekends are tougher than work days. Key is to have plans to keep busy so when you get a crave you have something to get your brain to focus on other than a smoke.
Stay strong.

Hi beatslbc,

Hang in there - you have just beat the first couple weeks which is often the hardest stage in quitting smoking!
I suggest incorporating some deep breathing techniques to help you relax and stay focused.
When do you find your cravings are strongest?  What has helped you so far?  What strategies do you use to overcome the cravings?

Hey,

Congratulations on your decision to quit.

Are you using any nicotine replacement therapy (gum, patches, lozenges) or did you go cold turkey? I found that the mood swings settled down pretty quickly once I got all nicotine out of my system.

If you're completely nicotine free and still having mood swings, you might want to talk to your Dr. about it.

Holy @#4!,
It's been 14 days, and I still have the craving.
The mood swings are just out of control esp. on the weekends.
But i'm taking it one day at a time... feels like i haven't smoked for a 1yr already..lol

Good luck to everyone.  I'm really determined to do this the 5th time around.

 Any advice would be appreciated
