Welcome Need!  Looks like you have some great advice here already to set you on the path to success!
I just came across a quote that often rings true: "Success usually lies just beyond failure."  So just keep working on it - those slips are telling you something; you can learn from them.  And of course 'Battle On' as Humble says!
PS:  Hi Humble   I'm so glad you're back on track again too : )

Sometimes perfection takes a little longer.  Battle on.

Hey Need!!!

It's great to have you here... Welcome!  While it IS a disgusting habit, it is also a strong physical and mental addiction you are trying to quit!  The drug nicotine is one of the most addictive substances there is!  The most excellent thing is that you have decided to not quit quitting!  Slips happen and you have to consider them a "trial run"!!!  The SSC has a great program that will help you prepare and you now have a bunch of new quit buddies here who are all rooting for you and ready to help you along the way.

Go through My Program and utilize the Tools (above tabs) and prepare yourself well.  Remember the 6-P's... Proper Planning Prevents Piss-Poor Performance!    Think about and decide if you want to utilize a NRT on your next attempt and start to psych yourself up for your forever quit!  Keep telling yourself over and over that you CAN do this!  It really does start to sink in after a while!  If you really want your quit more than you want to smoke, which it sounds like, you CAN and WILL succeed!

Start reading and let us know if you have any questions!  We're here for you!

Welcome Need to Succeed!

First of all, know that slips are common. Many quitters have to try a number of times before having a successful forever quit. The important thing is that you learn from it and you keep trying.

What have you learned from these past slips? What will you do differently now?

Hi all, I have been smoking for approx 20 years and in the past year have had two attempts at ridding myself of this disgusting habit! I gave myself a quit date of 1-1-13 and made five days before falling back into the trap! Since then I have slipped up twice, the second being today. I am determined to succeed and will start again tomorrow. I know I am not the only one who is really struggling. Good luck to us all!
