Your guide to quitting ? Ask a Friend

11 years ago 0 1853 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Newbies,

To quit you must believe you can quit. But gaining the support and encouragement of others who also believe you can quit will be helpful, if not essential.
Now is a good time to tell your family and friends that quitting is important to you and that you need their support and help. Let them know you may have temporary mood swings and ask them to be understanding. Above all, you must be able to ask for help when you need it.
Ask one special friend or family member to help you in the quitting process. Talk about how you’re preparing and discuss…
•    Your Benefits and Hardships of quitting.
•    The specific things your support person can do to help you.
•    Your coping plan.
•    Your emergency plan.
•    Your reward plan and milestones you will celebrate with your support person.
Members,

Have you found leaning on the support of a friend helpful?
