Hi all

This has not been my first attempt at quiting, over the last 9 years I have quit 3 times.  Now I am 9 years older and can really feel the effects of smoking and can see the damage it is doing, not only with myself but after the loss of two very dear people.  It was an easy decision to become a non smoker, I need to live a long healthy life for my family, and of course my first grandchild due Jan/Feb 2013.  The other factor is the cost of smoking $14.40 NZ$ for one packet of 20, at my heaviest I was smoking a packet a day, hmmmm that is a lot of money.

Dont get me wrong, it isnt easy and I do have my moments, but they do pass quickly, drink water or sucking on a mint lollie.

Hi Lynne,

Congratulations on your quit and treating yourself this weekend!  'Hell' & 'Heck' week are over with - plenty of reason to celebrate and reward yourself.

Is this your first attempt at quitting?  What has helped you get through the first couple weeks?

Hi All

Well the first two weeks have gone well, I am feeling great, the nasty cough has disappeared and am feeling more energetic.  I love the new smelling me..
Induldged myself on Saturday, Haircut, eyebrow shape, new jeans, boots and 4 new tops. Lunch out with my husband, even enjoyed a glass of wine.
All set for a busy week at work.

Have a great week everyone.

Lynne
