zyban plus nicotine patches and splitting patches

12 years ago 0 124 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0

I agree with you both, I am using a patch for 36 hours now see what happens, am planning to do this for two/three weeks or so and then start using the 14 mg patch for the same length of time. If I feel hard cravings, will stop doing so and return to 1 patch a day

Because this product is not sold in my country, there is no way for me to ask a doctor or a pharmacist, better Google it

Thanks for your concern

Carlos,

Do check with your doctor or pharmacist please!

Splitting the patch will lessen the effect as suggested.  Use coping mechanisms to compliment your strategies and as always check with a professional.

Welcome Carlos!  I too quit 4 1/2 years ago with Zyban and the nicotine patch.  I didn't do any patch splitting, but I have heard that splitting patches can weaken them significantly.  Perhaps that something you could Google online.
I can tell you that the combination of Zyban and the patch worked wonderfully well for me!  yes, I had to work at it, but it was MUCH easier for me to quit.
So good luck to you...I'm sure you will do very well!

All the best,

The doctor has prescribed me zyban and I added nicotine patches because they are impossible to find here in my country. I ordered them from USA.
I  am on my second day with 21 mg patch and about my third week with zyban.

Let me say that I feel great and the nicotine craving is more psychological than physical. I am changing my patches every 36 hours because I have only enough for 8 weeks (patches 21 mg and 28 patches 14 mg).

I am planning to split in two the 21 mg patch when I feel safe to do so even though it isn’t recommended and do the same with the 14 mg after using them for a full week.

Is it all right to split the patches and continue with my own recipe for quitting?

I really appreciate your comments.
