I've hidden my smoking from some of the people I know on facebook. That is why I haven't passed this on. I'm going to have to find some way, though. This site has been helpful. Looks like I'm part of a small pack of April/ may quitters.
Breaking the habit of smoking any amount of cigarettes is tough. It is important to plan and prepare just as much as you would if you were a heavy smoker. Read through the program, this will give you a lot of the information you will need to get ready. Also, post and read in the support group often. We are here to support you. Lastly, be sure to reward yourself often. When you smoke the cigarette often feels like a reward or break in itself. You need to replace this so that you don't feel like you are missing out. Plus you deserve to be rewarded for your hard work!
To get more responses from other members you may want to start a new thread with a topic that would encourage the light smokers/quitters to post. Your message may get missed in this thread.
Brand new to this program. I'd like to hear from folks who are light (3 cigarettes) but regular (daily) smokers.
The only time I smoke is in the morning at home. Never take smokes with me when I go out. Where can you smoke anyway! So my problem appears to be one of "habit" rather than nicotine dependence. And I've been doing it for 55 yrs. Not good to be dodging the bullet for that long. Larry
As you all may or may not know we set up a Facebook page for this wonderful site. We want to get the word out and help more people quit! The page has been up for about two weeks now and we only have 41 likes?!?! This can't be right! This site and support group is an incredible, free resource for quitters so therefore more people she "like" it. Shouldn't they?!
Well, we think so and if you are reading this then you probably agree. So, if you haven't liked the site already "like" it now. And also, share the page with your friends and loved ones. Share posts we make on Facebook often and encourage your friends to "like" us too! What's not to like about helping people quit smoking anyways? The more people who "like" it the broader audience we can get and the more people we can help.
Our goal is to get 100 likes by the end of the week - please help us to reach this goal. How many "likes" can you recruit?
