the return of the obsessive thoughts

You are both doing awesome Mica and RMH!  See those stats chocking up?  It's amazing how quickly they add up once you get that initial quit under your belt - it's great to post your thoughts and share ideas about ways to outsmart old Nicodemon too!  We're always here to help wher we can - and - oh ya  -  to cheer for you too!  WooHoo!  You're doing it!

TY & I'm glad you got that out. Almost 60 days is amazing!
Let's both keep up with allowing ourselves to be non-smokers.... I say this because I noticed pretty early on that when I was getting cravings that it was my inner voice trying to convince me to have a cigarette. As soon as I had that information, I was able to think down those old ideas by replacing what my little voice told me. Now I usually brush'em off.
That's where knowing what the benefits of being a non-smoker helps.

Hi RMH, wow, that just shows how we must always have our guards up and ready, you never know when these sort of thoughts might strike. So glad you came and looked at how well you've done already. I always think I would never ever like to do those first few days again, even though I had no physical craves the psychological quit was very difficult and I do not want to be back at square one ever again.
Anyway, well done to you for not giving into those thoughts, and yes you should be proud your quit is awesome. Keep checking in and reminding yourself just how well you're doing.

Hello Mica,

I too am going through some strange thinking this week.  I am on day 56 but for some reason have been thinking I would enjoy smoking again!  Excuse my french but WTF!  I thought I was over that kind of thinking but I feel like now is my real danger zone.  I have proven I can quit.  My daughter suggested I come back to this site and it does help to see my stats and it makes me feel proud again.  I have been busy and absent from here for awhile.  My pledge is to check in every day for awhile.  Sorry Mica - kind of made this reply all about me me me!  I wish you success as well.

Dear Mica,

Ditto to what Jim said, plus I just want to add....'Junkie thinking' can and will keep coming at you for a while yet!  It can happen just when you least expect it, so do what you have been doing - keep that great positive thinking, determination and have your coping strategies to hand at all times.

You are really doing it Mica!

Sorry to disappoint, but I did not have a hand in building the snowman: I just saw the pic & thought wonderful funny things...

Hi Mica,

I like your avatar!     Were you involved in making the snowman?  I imagine it would be a good way to distract yourself from wanting a smoke(!), in addition to meditation and housework.. Keep up the momentum and you will find many more good days than tough ones.

Good for you for posting instead of reflecting with a puff or two!   See what you have learned (already) in terms of expressing yourself?  Excellent Mica!  Keep going strong - you're doing fine : )
