A real sad Monday for me as Roxie (pete) passed away this morning. She had on hell of a time quitting and it only took her 5 tries but she finally did it. Which to all of you new quitters here is the lesson: If you have the will and determination you can quit smoking and never look back. Just do it.
First off I would like to thank each and everyone of you for your kindness and thoughts. Roxie was removed from the Hospital after 23 days in intensive care and placed in a Hospice Home. She is not being fed or otherwise maintained with the exception of a small amount of oxygen and pain meds to keep her comfortable. I was alarmed at first as I could only image a nursing home in my mind. My first visit yesterday left me feeling releaved as the place is beautiful. Only 12 beds in the facility, the rooms are huge and very large windows allowing a lot of natural light. The interior is pristine and no odors of any kind. The staff was more concerned with me than Roxie. I will be taking a few days off from the SSC so I can re-adjust my life and get things in order. Again thank you all and I will leave you with this:
