Hey there Kitten, Is tomorrow your quit date? Or are you going to wait the full two weeks on champix before quitting? I followed what they said and found that by the time I got to the end of the two weeks I was already smoking less. Was a bit of a challenge for a while after I laid that last cigarette down, but I want to let you know that it really helped me, and plenty of others. I haven't had one single puff in more than 4 1/2 years. Look through the program here, prepare for the triggers, drink lots of ice cold water, ask for help when you need it, do searches for questions you have (there are some good threads on Junkie Thinking, chantix, why you think about smoking, etc etc) and remember that each crave only lasts a minute or two. There's a whole healthy happy world waiting for you without the addiction. We all want you to succeed!

Welcome Kitten; You found the right place to come and share your Quit smoking journey.  We've all been where you are beginning - yet there are many folks with long standing quits who still grace the pages of this site. They prove it can be done, and come out of the woodwork to help - just when you need it most!  So go ahead and read up on other posts here, check out the program, the Hall of Fame, & see if a member here appeals to you as a Quit Buddy. You can send a PM (private message) to anyone you like and see where it leads. You're on your way now, Kitten, so Blog on! I hope the Champix works for you.  Cheers : ) Eyja

Hi Kitten, Great for you ! You are about to do something truly amazing. All of us here are with you. We are all trying to do the same thing. I suggest you read up on the program here and use all the resources you can find to learn about nicotine addiction. Keep plenty of ice water handy to wash away the craves and clean your system. Post here often and let us know how you are feeling . Many of us have been through it and can help. There are fabulous Health Educators here also and they will help you through the process as well. You are doing the best possible thing you can do for your health and you came to the right place for support. You WILL SUCCEED !
